I'm running and running and running. I hear Charlie's sprinting behind me. Stupid Charlie. If only he could have GOOD friends.

"Hey, Gay Girl," John says, "YOU owe us money!! Lots of it!"

I stumble, but I pick myself up with speed. I hate it when they call me that. It's only partly true. I'm Pan, no sweat about it. But someone to call me by a Rainbow name like it's a crime-
That just breaks me.

I mean, I knew that telling Lizzy was stupid. I knew she was only to pretend to be my friend. A rewind of eighth grade comes back into my head. Lizzy becomes my friend, careful not to break my trust. I then start to break, and tell Lizzy that I'm Pan. Then, she tells EVERYONE I'm Pan, and I've officially earned the name of "Little Gay Girl."

I like boys too, okay! Sheesh. So Mom and Dad decided to homeschool me. Big Deal, okay? Sheesh. Me getting lost in thought slows me down to a walk. Greaaattt.

Jake catches up to me first. My heart flutters by his touch. Ugh. Sue my little heart. "Twenty," Jake says, "I'll pay for the rest, I'm sorry." Jake has always been the sweet one to me. He's only in this because of his brother. I really feel bad for him in this way.

I hand over a twenty. Jake turns to John. "Can Staci and I chat, brother," He says. John nods, but gives Jake a look that says he's annoyed.

"Staci," Jake says. His lips brush mine. I pull away. "GET OFF ME, YOU FREAK!" I scream!
"I DONT OWE YOU MONEY, CHARLIE
JUST WANTS THE EXTRA DOUGH!!!"

Jake looks a little heartbroken, but do I care? No. Not at all. I rip the money out of his hands. And I run. Hard. And far. I don't turn around. I can't.
I'll loose speed.
My heart pounds.

"Girlie!!" John screeches. "Get Back HERE!!"
I disobey. I always will. Adrenaline pulses through my veins. My parents' mansion comes into view. I see Bobbie Jean at the front door. And I believe she sees that I'm being chased- because she's running toward me.

I don't slow down. I don't speak. I keep running. Into the house. Bobbie Jean, runs in behind me. She slams the door. I see my parents tired faces. "Mom...Dad" I begin.

"Charlie," Mom yells, turning her face toward the stairs, "GET DOWN HERE!" Charlie runs down as if this was practiced. "Yess," Charlie says innocently. Mom looks stern. Very stern.
"Say goodbye to Barbara and Stacilica. They will be leaving tomorrow," Dad says.

Bobbie Jean and I gasp. "What?!" Both I and Bobbie Jean say. Some drastic words come from Mom.

"Finishing School in Paris."
