"Sans, you have been very quiet. Don't tell me you are still upset about that human." Grillby washed his glasses as he spoke with Sans. Grillby was a fire monster. He was made completely of Blue Fire Magic. Thankfully, the fire would not burn anything unless he intended to. Then to Sans, a tall skeleton. He wore a red, long sleeved shirt. His shorts were black with gold stripes on each side. He wore a necklace with a golden save point on the chain. He held a single golden flower. He stared at it, tears forming in his eyes.

He looked up at Grillby. He wanted to yell, he wanted to scream. His voice remained soft. "Of course I am not over her. S-she didn't deserve this, Grillbz. You know that..." Grillby scoffed. "She was a human. It doesn't matter. If you would have just taken her damn soul we could have all been free!" Sans shot up. Anger filled his head. Echoes of her voice shattered his soul slowly. "Sometimes kindness is enough... if that were true then why aren't you here?!" He thought to himself. "D-don't you ever say that 'bout her. S-she didn't deserve what happened to her." Grillby chuckled and set down the glass, along with the cloth he was using to clean it with. "Or what? She was just a human. No importance."

Sans's hands began to shake. He looked to the side as tears began to stream down his face. "Oh come on, Sans. You've got nothing? Just as I thought! Weak. You shouldn't have let that freak into your soul. You're brother was right. You're just an idiot. A selfless idiot. She was a human. A human who never deserved to live!" Grillby laughed. Sans spun around and punched him in the jaw. "SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" Sans ran out as Grillby regained his balance. He pushed the doors opened and sprinted to the right. He knew exactly where he was going.

"No, no, no... if Boss finds out about this I'm going to get dusted... come back, Buttercup..." he continued to run right to the Ruins entrance. He pushed the door open and slowed down to regain his breath. "Hey, Big Bones. What are you doing back here again? You said last time was the last time you were gonna come. That's the third time you've broken that promise." Sans stopped and turned around. He was greeted by a small, talking flower. "Jeez, Flowey. You s-scared me for a second there..." Flowey's vines moved to allow him to move closer to Sans. "Sorry about that." Sans sighed. "It's n-not a big deal. Ah-" Sans winced in pain as he looked down at his fist. It was starting to bruise up. "Wow, buddy. What did you do this time? Papyrus?" Sans shook his head slowly as he looked to Flowey. "N-no, not this time. When he finds out what I did I'm going to be in way worse shape, though..." Flowey seemed confused as he asked, "Wow, what did you do? It can't be that bad. Hate to break it to you, buddy, you aren't that threatening. You may look like you are, but people know you. You don't have the confidence to do anything and we all know that." Flowey and Sans started to walk again.

"Grillby was talking about how Buttercup "never deserved to live"... I punched him... I'm so dead..." Flowey looked shocked. "You?! You punched someone?! On purpose?! Jeez, what happened to the Smiley Trashbag I knew?" Sans chucked and lowered his hand. "How are the flowers?..." Flowey looked down. "Alphys is going to take them and run some tests." Sans stopped. "What?! No!" Memories flooded back...

"Come on, Doll. We have to get you to Alphys..." Frisk coughed. More petals. Blood. "No, Sans. But, would you do me a favor?" Flowey looked to Frisk, concerned. "B-but..." "-For me, Sans." Sans hesitated. "Alright." They started to walk to the entrance. When they arrived, Frisk pointed. "Don't touch those flowers. They are the ones that infected me." Sans laid her down. Tears kept flooding his eyes. "Sans, I can't see you." "I-I know, Buttercup..." Sans looked at all the flowers growing from her skin and wiped away some of the blood on the petals. "So, promise me you will keep smiling." Flowey paused as tears formed. "I-I'm smiling, Sweetheart..." Sans smiled. It was a broken smile. "Stay with me, come with me... we c-can still make it. D-don't leave me... please don't be the last soul..." Sans's thoughts were scattered but fixed on her. Frisk's voice became soft. Sans leaned down and listened. "Sometimes kindness is enough." Frisk placed her hand on Sans's. "P-please... you don't have to... to..." "Shhh, Sans. I'm sorry. This flower's already..." Sans leaned down, his forehead touching the flowers on hers, careful to not press too hard. "This flower's already dead..." "N-no!" Frisk's breath slowed. Sans watched as his love turned into petals. "I promise, Sans..." It was hard for her to speak but she managed to get out one last sentence. "I will surround you in a garden of kindness..." she faded.

"Sans? You still with me?" Flowey asked. "S-sorry." "Not an issue." Sans wiped tears from his eyes and Flowey worried for him. "Why are they taking the flowers?..." Flowey started to explain, "Well, the ones she left behind were infected and we didn't want a repeat of this. I would recommend taking as many as you can before they... are... Sans?" Sans looked to him. "Yes?" "Am I going crazy or is there..." Sans looked over to where the flowers were. A new patch was planted. Echo Flowers. The others were moved to the side. He hadn't notice at first. "Sans, is that a human?!" "Flowey are you crazy? I don't see any hu-" A girl slowly lifted her head. "-mans... Oh my god of hyperdeath."
