Hidden Secrets of the "Perfect Royal Family"

Chapter One

After a few minutes, I got up from the table and walked out the door that both Calix and Eliza walked out of. I spotted them out in the garden, Calix was clutching the sides of her head and Eliza seemed to be trying to comfort her. I suddenly spotted Crew opposite of the garden, he was sitting down against a tree looking up at the sky, he had his white teardrop marking showing, the magic he used to cover it wore away. I thought it was best to not go and bother him because he seemed to be in a trans, his eyes were a really light silver and he seemed like he wasn't aware of his surroundings.

I walked over to Calix and Eliza and noticed that they were talking, I wanted to turn around and go back inside, but inside I hid behind a tree and bushes and listened into their conversation.

"Hey... i know this is painful... but you have to fight it!" Eliza hissed quietly. What was she talking about?

"I- I don't know if i can hold it... it's getting more powerful!" Calix yelled out, she was clearly in pain.

"Listen!" Eliza snarled, I never thought that a little girl could sound so.... Terrifying. Eliza grabbed Calix's shoulders "I know the virus gets more powerful, I created it for goodness sake! But this was your choice! You wanted to be more powerful, you got that... so now you have to deal with your choice! I'm trying to help you, but you have to fight back to deal with it! Learn to deal with pain, out of anybody here, you should be used to it the most" Eliza said harshly... but what was the virus? What could cause a first circle goddess so much pain? Why would she be used to it? I wanted to ask so many questions. Calix paused.

"I know, but .... Why did you have to make this so... so painful?" Calix asked, annoyed and irritated.

"Because, if you want more power, you have to work for it, no matter what, you can't just ask for it and get it immediately" Eliza said, "remember Vontera, she has all the power that she can imagine, more than you, but she hurts, she doesn't know how to control it, that's why she goes insane...." Who was Vontera?

"How can I forget my own master? I'm her successor for goodness sake.... And I know.... She hurts a lot.. I already share that pain with her.... You know that..... So why do I have to go through this? Is it amusing to you?" Calix said bitterly as she moved her hands away from her head. Eliza smirked.

"Possibly, why" Eliza smirked. "So how do you feel now?" she asked.

"Better.. Maybe, anger helps" Calix hissed quietly.

"We should probably head back to dinner then... " Eliza said, she started to walk off.

"Yeah...." Calix said quietly, then for some reason I stepped out of the bushes, that was probably the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life, and I've done some pretty stupid things.

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked, Calix froze. She looked scared like she was about to get hit or beaten, maybe that has happened a lot to her, that made me feel even worse for her, "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to listen into your conversation....." I said. Eliza looked up at me, but it felt more like she was looking down at me, she was so intimidating, even for a nine year old. She walked past me like it didn't matter. Calix stood there, like a statue.

"What's going on here?" Crew said he was standing in the dark, he looked tired for no apparent reason.

"Nothing," Calix said quickly.

"You say that like your mocking me, I'm not stupid....." Crew said, his face was as white as snow.

"Why would I do that....." she whispered " I have no reason to think your stupid...."

"Then why would you pretend that nothings happening here?" Crew asked, he looked like he was about to pass out.

"Habit" Calix muttered.
