I open The curtain from the window next to my bed. Our bed. I look over to my sleeping fiancée Luke. Luke is the man that picked me up on my feet. I look over my view of the city and go down to the kitchen. As I wait for the coffee to be brewed I check our mail. Well my mail but soon it will be ours. Wow. Hearing the word ours makes me happy. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him. I'm disrupted from my thoughts as Luke arrives downstairs.
"Morning honey" , He greets me with a kiss on the head. I look over at him,
"I'm making coffee, it'll be done in a second."
He's sighs and explains, " you know, you don't always have to make me breakfast, I want to be able to help with all that." I roll my eyes and pour myself a cup of coffee. Luke giggled and wrapped his arms around me kissing my neck. "Babeee, you have to get to work"
"Come on five minutes won't hurt."
"I also have to go to my interview at Laws." I respond. He huffs and says fine, leaving me alone in the kitchen.
After he leaves out the door I decided to get ready. I head upstairs and open my closet. Though, living in New York I wasn't much of a fashion person. Most of my wardrobe consists of sweaters, jeans, hoodies, boots, and T-shirts.
I look in the back thankfully able to find my slim pencil navy blue dress that I bought for a Christmas party four years ago when I was a senior in high school. As I try to get the back zipped my phone buzzes. I look over and find a text message from my lifelong best friend Dallas. Hey Jenna I want to grab some lunch later?
I tell her I'll text her when I'm out of my interview and meet to me at the Café that we've hung out at ever since we were in middle school. When we were finally allowed to take the subway alone we would go exploring all the shops and restaurants she had been to. My mother never really cared for the city so we never went anywhere. She grew up in Tennessee. Always outside, always with her old horse she grew up with. She had to give him away because her daddy got a promotion in New York. So I've always been here. My mama took us to her hometown once in a while. Although it was Mostly over the summer, it was still nice to see something other than lights and buildings. I grab my black heels, my purse, and let my hair flow down to my shoulders. And leave out the door.
