Sato Mitsue felt his mouth stretch open, the unavoidable yawn coming to surface as his best friend, Kageyama Tobio, glares at him.
"You didn't sleep last night, did you? Might I remind you it's your first day?" He questioned the smaller male, annoyed. Mitsue rolled his eyes.
"I was working on my bullet journal. It looks fantastic, in case you were wondering," he says proudly while Tobio sighs. Mitsue hasn't changed a bit. But he loves that.
"Will you come with me after school to the volleyball club?" Tobio asks, and Mitsue nods.
"Yeah. I'm joining too, after all. Someone has to keep an eye on you," his words earn him a smack on top of the head, and he pouts up at his taller friend while he rubs the spot. Mitsue didn't particularly care for volleyball. He liked the teamwork and sense of family that came with a good team, and he liked being around Kageyama. He just so happens to have incredible reflexes and excel at defensive work, plus he has to join a club anyways, might as well still to what he knows.
"If anything, you're the one who needs to be watched. You're a brat, Mitsue," Tobio says, causing him to look up with a lazy smile and a wink.
"I'm your brat-"
"Shut the fuck up and go to class."

Somehow, Mitsue managed to stay awake throughout the day. He likes to think he's a pretty good student for that.
"Oi! Mitsue, lets go," Tobio was waiting for Mitsue, who lazily walked over and laced their fingers together, leaning his body into Tobio as they began to walk.
"You're going to make people think we're dating, again," Tobio rolled his eyes and Mitsue smiled.
"How nice that must be for you," the rest of the walk to the gym was quiet.
"I'm gonna set my stuff down here. I have to pee," Mitsue said as they walked in, setting his bag down up against the wall.
"Hurry back," Tobio tells him, and he nods.
Once he'd done his business, he washed his hands and looked up into the mirror. His green eyes looked a little dull but his concealer under his eyes had held up, thank fucking god. Mitsue liked to think he was very attractive, pretty if you will, and smiled while he took in his slightly messy hair, fixing it a little after drying his hands. Mitsue wakes up with crazy bed head, which he keeps in an endearingly messy state through the day because he knows it's nearly impossible to keep it neat.
"The lighting is strangely good in this bathroom," Mitsue hums as he takes his phone out of his pocket, taking the opportunity to snap some selfies of himself.
Satisfied with the final product, Mitsue let's out a little giggle and leaves the restroom. He would make cute edits of himself and post them later.
On his return to the gymnasium, Tobio and some kid around Mitsue's size with orange hair were arguing outside of it.
"Tobio if you're going to be loud then be loud in my bed," Mitsue says teasingly with his signature lazy smile, the two turning to him.
"Mitsue, you need to go make them like you and help us get another chance," Tobio ignores his friends comment, grabbing him by the shoulders and looking down at him seriously.
"What the hell did you two do?"
After an explanation, Mitsue wanted to smack both the boys, but he has small hands and isn't particularly strong. It also involves him needlessly putting effort into a movement. Why waste energy? Either one of them could probably beat him in a fight, but Tobio wouldn't beat up Mitsue. He knows if he tried then his smaller friend would give him a kiss and then it would be over for him.
"Go work your magic," Tobio tells him, and Mitsue giggles.
"What magic?" Shōyō, as Mitsue learned his name to be, questions confused.
"You'll see sunshine! You two, get your shit together, I got this."
