" Come on you sea dogs. We have work to do. " Connor said sternly putting his equipment that he had been carrying on the wooden floors.
The camp had white tents, the floor boards with the colour of a dark brown and the smell of blood made him cringe. How could he work with the smell of blood? How could he stand the chance of killing someone? Kato didn't want to help, he knew it was foolish, not caring for your soldiers? Cruel you would think right? Even though it was, Kato didn't want the memory of seeing someone else's tail probably ripped in half. But he thought to soon.
" Hey! Rusty get over here. " A soldier called after him. He didn't want to move. In a way he wished he never joined, why did he join in the first place. Oh yeah that's right, to get revenge. But how could he?! He couldn't do that if he was too scared to see a flesh wound of another merman. " NOW. " Hearing the stern voice again made him jump, there was no way out of it now. He swam to the tent, he gulped saying to himself that it couldn't be that bad.
Oh was he wrong.
He regretted opening the curtain of that tent. Why couldn't he have been called to a different tent? Oh but fate couldn't be kinder ( sarcasm ). The merman that was being held down had his fin torn actually more like ripped off. Then an arrow was lodged in kid skin between his ribs and collarbone. But that wasn't it, he had deeps wounds on his arms and torso. Blood was floating in the ocean because of this man was injured so badly.
" UUUUURRRRAAAAHHHHH " The merman yelled in pain and squirmed which looked like it didn't help.
" OY RUSTY HOLD HIS SHOULDERS DOWN SO WE CAN GET THAT ARROW OUT " These yells snapped him out of his daze and he went to the soldiers shoulders, he carefully put hands on his shoulders but soon holding them down with force after being told so.
The medical mermen worked quickly as they could. They got the arrow out and somewhat patched up his wounds on his torso but the real problem was his fin. If they touched anywhere near it or the fin itself he would scream and squirm in pain. They needed to patch up his fin before he bled out, but they couldn't he would squirm to much.
" CONNOR YOU BLODDY GIT GET YOU ARSE OVER HERE " A soldier said. Kato didn't worry now about if he was holding him down hard or not. What mattered right was his fin.
" IM HERE. YOU AND YOU HOLD DOWN HIS SHOULDERS AND YOU. YOU AND ME ARE HOLDING DOWN HIS TAIL. YOU FOUR YOU BETTER FUCKING HURRY UP. " Connor said in a rush and fierce tone. Unfortunately, Kato was told to hold down the tail with Connor.
He quickly let go of the soldiers shoulders. (A/N say that ten times fast. ) Then he almost launched himself at his tail. He put all his strength in so that wouldn't move, same with Connor. ' Boy, was this guy strong ' Kato thought as he keep putting pressure on his fin. The soldier grunted and yelled in pain. Kato would sometimes glance up and see that merman would be sweating ( if that's even possible in the ocean... ) and he looked like he was going to pop a vein at some points.
" DONE. NOW LET GO ON 3. 1.. 2.. 3!!!!!! " And like that everyone let go, leaning far away from him as possible. Once they did, the soldier quickly calmed down and started to slow his breath. But he still grunted in pain, his eyes still clenched tight.
" Well done. Now go help the others. " A medical Merman said to the others shooing them out of the tent.
Kato was the first one to leave, not wanting to be in there anymore. He quickly looked around before hiding behind few barrels to keep out of helping. Obviously after seeing this, he was absolutely traumatized. How could a mermaid fall in love with such monsters? Or were they the monsters?
Who were the monsters?
Who knew the answers?
She did.
