Chapter thirty-seven: Getting married

Start from the beginning

Hayley tried to shut them up but she just got frustrated and just lied down and I was still just sitting beside Alex.

He stopped singing after a while and leaned his head beside mine on the couch. He turned to face me, smiling as his eyes scanned my face. "We're getting married." He closed his eyes.

"What?" I chuckled.

"I see it. We're gonna get married. We're gonna have an amazing honeymoon in?" he asked.

"The Bahamas or Greece," I shrugged.

"In the Bahamas or Greece. We're having annoying little kids running around everywhere. I see it," his hand rested on my thighs. He shook my leg while leaning in. "I see it," he mumbled.

"Hmm, I see it too." I kissed him before I heard fake gags. I rolled my eyes and pulled away. We turned to Daniel who was now sucking on a lollipop Hayley just shoved in his mouth. "Ooh! I want one!" Alex and I cheered in sync.

"Aren't you the sober one?" she stood up with a huff, falling on Daniel.

"I'll get them," I laughed. I stood up but Alex pulled me back down.

He kissed me quickly before I went and got one for Alex, one for me. We have a long night ahead of us.

"What color is my tongue?" I stuck it out at Alex.

"Blue. Mine?" he asked.

"Green," I laughed.

"I want the blue one!" Alex pouted, kicking around restlessly.

"You asked for a green apple one!" I laughed.

"Now I want that one!" He tried to snatch it but I put it in my mouth.

I laughed while looking at him.

Daniel and Hayley were in the kitchen dancing around and we were sitting here.

He grabbed my waist and lifted me onto him, having me straddle him. I pulled out my lollipop and held it in my hand before wrapping my arms around his waist and leaning in. "I love you," I sang.

He smiled before kissing me. He pulled away chuckling. "You taste like blueberries," he laughed.

"You taste like a green apple," I replied mockingly.

"Promise me you'll marry me one day," he extended his pinky.

"Alex," I laughed.

"I'm being serious." I looked for any sign of sarcasm in his eyes but they were blank. He was being serious.

"We don't know what could happen," I stated.

"I do. I know. We're gonna get married. Promise me," he demanded.

"I promise," I locked my pinky with his before kissing him. I see myself marrying him and I don't know if it's the vodka but I doubt it. He randomly burst out laughing out of nowhere. "What?" I chuckled.

"Your tongue is green," he cackled. I looked at him in confusion.

"Baby," I laughed. "Your tongue is green. Mine's blue." I looked at him carefully.

His eyes were cloudy. "No, yours is," he pouted. I stuck my tongue out and he let out a groan. "Damnit!" he huffed. Well, the alcohol is kicking in hard. I heard a thump and my head spun to Hayley and Daniel.

They both pretty much collapsed on the floor.

"Let's get you, kids, to bed, huh?" I patted his chest before standing up only for him to pull me back down. He puckered his lips. I kissed him but he still wouldn't let me go. I poked his side and he jumped before I shot up and helped Hayley up.

I took her to her room, which, thank god is downstairs before getting back to see Daniel already up. "Can you get to your room?" Nothing. "Daniel!" He gasped. "Can you get to your room?" I chuckled slightly.

"Mm-hmm," he nodded. I led him to it and opened the door for him. Last one. I sighed and got to Alex. He was still in the same spot, watching me.

"What are you looking at?" I chuckled.

"You. You're so patient with everyone," he huffed. "Including me," he snorted while reaching his arms out.

I let out a laugh and helped him up. I walked him up the stairs after he fell once and then we finally got to our room. He sat on the bed while I turned the lights off. He took his hoodie off and tossed it on the ground before crawling into bed while I lay down beside him. I was lying there, trying to sleep when he rolled over and lay on top of me.

Oxygen? Never heard of her. I didn't push him off or shift. I may not be able to breathe but he was being so cute.

"You're so pretty," he chuckled while running his fingers through my hair.

"Okay, you lay on top of me now," he rolled off and pulled me on top.

I laughed while running my hand through his hair. I kissed his cheek before wrapping my arms around his neck and falling asleep on his chest.

"No! No, I won't! Don't! Don't touch me! I-"

"Babe! Faith! Are you okay? You're dreaming. You're dreaming, baby."

My eyes snapped open while I panted. I was burning up, my heart was speeding way over the limit while I trembled.

"What happened? Hey." He instantly pulled me into a hug, kissing the top of my head while rubbing circles on my back to calm me down. "What happened?" he asked.

"N-nothing," I mumbled.

"Nightmare?" he questioned. I didn't trust my voice so I just nodded. "It's okay, I've got you. You're okay," he ran his hand through my hair calmingly.

"Don't leave me! Please don't leave me!" I began crying into his chest.

"I'm not leaving, babe. Do you need anything?" he asked in concern.

"I just-" I choked and he handed me water. "I just- I just need you to- to hold me," I sobbed.

"Of course. You'll be okay, bubba. You'll be okay."

I felt at ease almost instantly when he held me.

What the hell just happened right now?
