"You can't kill him. Ril don't." Luna pleaded.
"Did he?" Ril winced at the thought of the answer.
"No, he didn't." He relaxed a bit at the statement.
"Good, cause then I really would have to kill him." He laughed slightly and put his arms around her.
"Good, but what are we supposed to do? I mean with the monsters and camp and all this shit." She shakes her head. "I can't do it by myself."
"Hey, hey, hey. Who said anything about doing this by yourself? We are all here to help you, Kat, me, Steven, and I guess that Zach guy. Unfortunately Aaron's behind you too. When you have to do it alone, I'll let you know. Okay?"
"Okay." He smiles. "Look I think that sense they built this place and no one knows about it. Maybe well they could do the thing just outside of Camp. I do have control over them I guess. They could do patrols and stuff." He nods.
"I know this is important to you and even though I'm not fully excited about this. I'll support it."
"Thank you. I think this will work out. Eventually you know."
"Okay, well we better get back in there before they send out a search party for you."
"Yea, so you think this will work?" Luna bites her lip.
"If you came up with it, then yea. It will." He kisses her forehead. "Let's go."
"Yea, I think I'm ready." He takes her hand and they walk back into the mess hall. Again all the heads turn to them. Steven nodded. They walk to the front of the room.
"Alright everyone, I guess it's been decided." People hung on her words in anticipation. "We are moving back to camp half blood." the demigods cheered, but the Slythian stared. Aaron stood abruptly, knocking his chair over in the process. "Queen Luna. A word? Now." His face was calm, yet unreadable. the last word hung in the air as everyone stayed silent and unmoved as if the slightest movement would set off a bomb.
"Of course Aaron." Luna kept her tone civil and just as calm. Ril shoots her a weary look, but she brushes it off and strolls out of the room her head held high. Aaron is soon behind her. The moment they exit the hall his demeanor changes instantly as if a light switch was flipped.
"What the hell Luna?" His eyes flash and his fists are clenched. "Relocating us? Why couldn't they just come here? Why couldn't they just go?" He fired of the questions as bullets.
"I can do what I want. if you have a problem with that than fine, but you are not in charge around here anymore. Cause like it or not big shot you brought me back to take over and I'm here now so I'm doing just that." Luna hisses at him. He stares at her and runs his hands through his hair.
"Is that why you think I wanted you back here? For your dam power?" He asks through gritted teeth.
"Well you wouldn't go through 17 years of searching for any other reason." Luna crosses her arms and huffs.
"What about for love." He states like it was the easiest thing in the world. Her breath hitches in her throat. "Yea, that's right I said it. I was too stupid to not say so along time ago. I love you Luna. Completely and utterly in love with you. If I had said it then, would you have stayed? Would we be together?" His expression softens. The words were genuine.
"I-I, no I-I mean I don't know. What was happening, I mean." Luna struggled to find the right words.
"You don't feel the same way." He says quietly. Aaron looks down. "I know. I just had to say it. Luna, do you really think that this is a good idea? Bringing all of us to camp half blood. What are you gonna do with us? We aren't allowed in the barrier."
"You guys made this and you can make it again just outside of camp. We don't need to be fighting all the time. There is no point to the fighting. No point to the death. No point to the lost loved ones." Luna finishes quietly. He sighs thinking for a moment.
"Okay. If this is what you want, if you truly believe this is gonna work than you have my full support." He nods in respect. "Queen Luna." He addresses her and walks off to his cabin to pack. Luna let out a sigh. Okay looks like everyone was good and accounted for. Though Aaron left her wondering, if he had said that before, would she had stayed? Would she have felt the same way? She walked off lost in thought. This was really happening. She had been caught, crowned, and courted. Luna shook her head and laughed slightly at the thought. Courted, interesting yet so juvenile. To be courted, wooed, however you would call it. That wasn't for her, she lived in battle. A constant one, and as much as she longed for that companionship. Even though others wanted it to, that was something she could never fully give to someone else. Not now, maybe not ever. Was she really being fair to Ril? He was perfect, every girls dream boy. He deserved the best, not some screwed up psychotic chick. Psychotic, another thing to add to her list. She would add that to the never ending things that were messed up about her. People told her she was the best at everything, but the bitterness in their tones was never un missed. All eyes were on her all the time, waiting, watching for her to slip up and laugh in her face. Go to Steven and tell him to have them take her quest. Just use it against her later. She could never be herself, because herself was a monster. No matter how hard she tried, she was and always will be a monster.
