I don't know why I thought visiting my older sister first thing in the morning after yesterday's fatal spur of confidence would be a good idea, but now it's too late to try and evade the inevitable. Tatia is ready to give me an important life lesson and I certainly won't deny her the pleasure.

At least I'll get my belly filled with the delicious breakfast Seokjin is currently preparing which is an honour in itself. That's the main reason I insisted on visiting the two of them instead of inviting them over - I consider myself to be a good cook, but he is out of everyone's league.

"So you're telling me you sent a job application to this guy V, whatever, where you explicitly agreed to model nude for him even though no one has any idea what the man looks like?" Tatia asks as she tries to wrap her head around my brief explanation.

The only thing I can manage to do is simply nod at her question. My voice is lost like the Heart of the Ocean, hidden deep under the layers of sand and Titanic's corroded metal that gathered on the Atlantic seabed after the ship's devastating crash with the iceberg.

"Seeing him in person to model without any clothes on and admiring his work are two different things, Dell. The only personal information I was able to find about him is his birthday, without the year mind you. For all we know, he could be a fucking creep of a sixty-year-old. At least he's rich."

"I've made a huge mistake for heaven's sake, I know that Tati," I groan with a muffled voice since my hands are covering my whole face to try and hide the embarrassed expression written all over it. "I was so stupid, what the hell was I even thinking?"

Tati's hand resting on my shoulder doesn't manage to console me, my grimace remaining buried in the protective shield I made. I have no fucking idea what I'm whining about, letting the words tumble over my tongue like a neverending fall into the rabbit hole.

"I'm kind of glad I don't understand a thing that's coming out of your mouth, Dell. German is steadily dropping on my list of languages I want to learn the more I listen to Tat and you, although the swear words are quite creative when translated."

Jin has his back turned to us, waving his wooden spoon in the air to emphasise his words before continuing to stir whatever he mixed inside that pan. The graciousness with which he moves about is reminding me of a ballet dancer, causing a sour taste of envy to gather on my tongue.

Tati decides to sit on the barstool next to me, resting her elbow on the kitchen island and letting her soft hair spill over the flat surface. The deep red ombre is complimenting her natural mocha brown roots, the combination of tones something not everyone can pull off.

She has no problems when it comes to it though, resembling a Greek muse in the modern times that's strutting down the catwalk without a single care in the world.

Her eyes the colour of the finest gingerbread are glued on her husband, following the dip of his muscles as he moves about the kitchen with an absent mind. She is whipped for him and doesn't even bother hiding it from my innocent self.

Unfortunately, Jin is not done with giving himself the right to insult me, his nonchalant shrug as irritating as ever. "Why worry so much, it's not like he'll contact you. You're like a fucking cassowary, too exotic and experimental which is intimidating as hell."

Oh, I'm certainly not about to let him get away with this. "You know what Seokjin? Verpiss dich," I swear without actual spite in my voice, earning an amused chuckle from him as he takes some vegetables from the fridge. "I have no idea how or why Tati puts up with your dumb ass."

"Ignore him, he isn't worth it." She interrupts me and slides a glass of orange juice over the island, taking a sip from her own. "Were there any requirements for this position you applied for? Give me more details, what you told me earlier is too scarce and secretive."
