"Robocop. You constantly call me Robocop." Said the android.
"I knew that too!" Said the other one."I.."
You took a deep breath as you hardened the grip on your gun. "What is my biggest fear?"
"Hank. Your biggest fear is to lose Hank." Said the Connor on the left. "Since the Cole incident, you care about your godfather's health ... because he's the only one left. And after your incident, things got worse. It wasn't your fault, (Y/N). A gun was being aimed at you, and you were unable to react to the emotional discharge you were experiencing ... You were under a lot of pressure. That's why you suffer from anxiety."
"Things got worse because my conditions were unsure." You said. "I didn't want to leave Hank alone in this world where the only way people can find comfort is with a fistful of powder..."
"I knew about that too!" The other one said. "I would have said the exactly same thing!"
You glanced at the android on the right, you believed that there was not much he could say to convince you. Because the other android, who keeps looking at you nervously, told you something that would be too personal for anyone to guess. "(Y/N), you want to know something?" Said Connor.
You shifted your gaze to the one on the left again.
"I know you're still upset with me for hurting you that night on the DUAT rooftop. But I did that because I was scared... I was scared to admit that I enjoyed your company."
"What?.."
"..But I also wanted to accomplish my mission, so I tried to limit myself ... It didn't work. Because every time you were around, things just seemed ... better. You made me feel better."
That settled it. You knew that, that Connor was the real one. Nothing could change that. "Don't listen to him, (Y/N), I'm the one who--"
You didn't even let that copycat finish it's sentence--straight headshot. You softened your grip on the gun and dashed to hug the android. "Jesus Christ, Robocop, I'm so glad it's you!" You sighed in relief as you buried your face on his shoulder. "I'm so sorry..."
"No, I'm sorry." He said while holding you tightly, also relieved. "I shouldn't have get you and Hank mixed-up in all this ..."
"Urgh, my head..." You heard Hank groan while getting up. "Feels like someone knocked on my head with a hammer..."
"Hank, are you okay?" You asked.
"Yeah, yeah.. Just remind me to put on a helmet the next time we have to fight an android.." He joked. The old man stared at the fake copy of his partner dropped lifelessly on the floor, then at the couple holding each other right before him. "I've learned a lot since I met you, Connor. Maybe there's something to this... Maybe you really are alive. Maybe you'll be the ones to make the world a better place..."
You walked up next to your godfather, and rested your hand on his shoulder. You stared at each other with a good energy for a moment. Connor observed how close you really are, and saw how important you are for each other.
"Go ahead, and do what you gotta do."
So the deviant got back to his main objective. He walked up to one of the thousands of androids, grabbed it's arm to spread deviancy--not as a virus, but as a chance to do what is right.
"Wake up!"
You could see that warehouse filled with androids being filled with something more, as their voices echoed in that place. Markus did his part by leading a march into the city to protest once again for the freedom of his people. And Connor did his.
