Kyle: I need you to help me break up with Kerri.

Freddie: E-excuse me?

Freddie almost chokes on his drink as they enter Kyle's bedroom.

Freddie: Why do you need help breaking up with your girlfriend?

Freddie stares at Kyle in total bewilderment.

Kyle has always had a bad habit of speaking before thinking.

Saying the first thing that comes to his mind, no matter how ridiculous it may sound.

This time, though, things are different.

Kyle's tone of voice is different.

Freddie can't tell if his best friend is being serious or not.

Freddie: You know there's an easy way to go about this...

Freddie: Just do it via text.

Freddie: It'll be quick and painless.

Kyle: That isn't good enough.

Kyle takes off his letterman jacket and tosses it out of sight.

He walks over and collapses onto the center of his bed.

Moping.

Freddie, still processing everything, remains frozen by the door.

Freddie: What do you mean that isn't good enough?

Kyle: You know how Kerri is, Freddie.

Kyle: Dramatic is her middle name.

Kyle: I can't go about this simply.

Freddie: So, you want to go about this... dramatically?

Kyle: The more dramatic the better.

Freddie rolls his eyes.

He eventually finds the strength to move.

He drops his backpack by the door before taking a seat at the foot of Kyle's massive bed.

Freddie: Why are you making such a big deal out of this?

Kyle sighs.

He absentmindedly stares at the ceiling while his mind wanders to too many places at once.
