The Archer

chapter one

I walked beside my close friend, Jisung, who kept rambling on and on about his time at a party he attended without me yesterday.

It didn't go so well as I thought it would when I played matchmaker for him.

"I swear I thought she had three eyebrows!" Jisung yelled as everyone walking by, gave us a weird look. "Okay uhm can you not be so loud?" I requested causing him to laugh a bit, "How am I not supposed to laugh at the fact that she had three eyebrows?!"

"At least Heejin doesn't have three eyebrows!" I spoke up, mentioning another one of my close friends. "Okay but, she's like a little sister to me, it's not gonna happen." Jisung looked back at me as I shrugged in response.

"Hyun-Mi!" I heard a familiar deep voice with an australian accent call my name. Me and Jisung, almost at the same time, turned towards the voice.

Can this boy never just call me Hope?

"Oh what's up, Felix?" I asked as he approached us with my best friend, Kim Hyunjin, by his side. "Well you and Jisung never replied to my texts" Felix chuckled as I reached for my phone and looked at the 'Slutty Waffles' group chat.

Hope! Where are you?
Helloooo??
Did you get stuck in the toilet again?
Hyun-mi!!
Fine, I'll find you myself

"Shit, I went to pick up Jisung today, I thought you'd already be in class?" I put my phone away, "Well, apparently Mr. Cornbloom will be giving us new seats." Hyunjin sighed as we all groaned.

"Well, we're gonna be late, let's go!" Jisung sighed before we all made our way to our first period class.

We walked to the classroom and stood at the front where everyone else stood, before the teacher stepped in and began to assign seats.

"Hyunjin sit behind Jisung." The teacher said, causing Jisung to sigh to himself in his new seat. Just then, the male Hyunjin and one of Jisung's friends began to move but was stopped by the teacher.

"I was referring to Kim Hyunjin." He explained as she then sighed, walking over to her seat.

After some more kids were called, I knew my name was next and looked where I'd be sitting.

Right next to Jisung with Hyejoo behind me.

"Hyun-Mi sit in front of Ms. Olivi-"

"Got it!" I interrupted and ran for the empty seat near my best friends. Me and Jisung gave each other a glance as the teacher continued, "Felix sit in front of Hyun-Mi"

"It's Hope, Mr. Alexis Cornbloom." I said with a slight annoyance that caused Olivia to snicker behind me. The teacher simply rolled his eyes and continued with the roster.

I turned back to Olivia and decided to speak to her. "Where were you last night?" I asked, referring to the party that Chan had hosted at his place. "I didn't feel like going, Felix has officially gotten me into video games." She said proudly.

"Well, I'm friends with two nerds. That's great." I sighed, and then turned back and noticed Felix laughing with his girlfriend, Hyunjin.

It seemed weird to me that they had gotten together so soon after we all transferred here.

As soon as the bell rang, we all stood up and we headed outside for the next class. "Wait! Hope!" Felix spoke, catching my attention as I turned to him. "Yeah?" I asked as he caught his breath from running for two seconds.

"Are you willing to go to my party tonight?" He asked with a smile, "Tonight? On a school night? You're dumber than you look, Aussie-Boy." I chuckled.

"Aww please come!" Felix begged and I gave in, "Fine, but you owe me! Dork." I scoffed. "Thank you!" Felix cheered and wrapped his arms around me, which caused the butterflies in my stomach to probably seizure.

Suddenly, a force pushed me down to the ground with Felix only stumbling back as Lisa, my ex-best friend, bumped into me.

"Aw sorry, I didn't see you there. I guess you really are invisible." She laughed, as Felix scoffed and helped me up. Watching her walk away, Felix glared, "God, I hate that stupid bitch." He spoke.

"It's fine, I gotta get to class, I can't be late again." I excused myself and off I went to class.

Later

I approached the large house, it's loud music blaring from behind the walls. "Here goes nothing" I said to myself, pressing the door bell and within seconds, the door swung open to Felix.

"Welcome!" he said cheerfully, I entered and laughed. "Thanks" I smiled as I scanned the room and was surprised that there was honestly a lot of people here, Felix wasn't exactly popular, so naturally I knew that Chan had invited people.

"You look lost? Don't tell me this is your first party" Jisung said to me and I scoffed, "Very funny." I rolled my eyes.

"I can make it a night to remember" he flirted, "try harder next time" I winked as he sighed in defeat.

"Where's Hyunjin?" I then asked before hearing a scream from the corner of the room, it was Hyunjin.

"Holy crap! Felix get over here!" A student named, Jeongin, yelled from the bathroom as a crowd formed around him. Hyunjin was hysterical in his arms, shaking and crying.

I followed behind Felix and looked into the bathroom as disgust filled me.

On the floor, covered head to toe in blood was Lisa. Her guts on the floor, surrounding her as the smell of death filled the room.

It wasn't long before the police arrived and ordered everyone home. Me and Jisung stayed there waiting for Felix to come out.

"What happened?" I asked when he came out from talking to the cops. "They asked what happened and called my parents. They're upset but coming back to town tomorrow morning."

"Guys, Lisa is dead." Jisung said, not believing it himself. "Have you thought about it yet?" He then added as me and Felix looked at each other in confusion.

"We're going to school with a killer."
