It was an early morning, birds were chirping as the sun came to a lovely peak. Slowly but surely I got up, stretching from the good nights rest. "What time is it.." just as if on cue, my phone went off; allowing all the notifications to come pouring in. Guess it was time to start my day, hell here I come.
My shower was starting to warm up as I got ready for today, I didn't really care about today, it was a Monday. I mean, my looks are for me and me only, so if I decide to go out looking like a bum, then I will. A small sigh escaped me. "Bonkers." Muttering softly, I slipped into the warm water, allowing the steam to consume me.
After my shower, I slipped on something comfortable. A pair of fitting black sweats with white stripes down the side, a dark blue crop top, and my favorite pair of black slides, with black socks, of course. Taking one last look in the mirror, I did a full 360 spin and nodded. I am a very chubby girl, curves in all the right places, stretch marks and the whole nine yards. I really loved my body shape, not to mention most of the females at my school had smaller features, very petite. So, at least I was different instead of a copy.
Now it was time for my least favorite part, my hair. Having curly 4C hair had some benefits cause I loved it, but doing my hair was the worse. If it gets wet, it gets poofy or kinky, a real struggle, sometimes it has a good day, other times it's breaking combs from how thick it is. And don't get me started on the shrinkage, it's just horrible, one minute I go from long and pretty hair, acting like Rapunzel- to people thinking I cut it all off.
Starting off, I sprayed my hair with a conditioner water mix to make it soft enough for my comb to go through, running some oil through my tangled locks, I soon began to comb it out and put it in sections. Since I had some time left on my hands, I took the time to look into the mirror and smiled. "On my momma, on my hood. I look fly, I look good~" I hummed, dancing around a bit as my hair soaked up what it needed.
About 30 minutes later, I removed the plats and brushed it out, my hair soon dropped down to my hips, it was healthy and full of tight but beautiful curls. I soon brushed my teeth and made sure to be extra careful around my braces, then washed my face and went downstairs, I lived with my grandparents. My dad passed away a while back and my mom and I didn't get along. I looked at my complexion after scratching at my eyebrow, a small sigh slipped past my lips as I went into the kitchen to grab a granola bar and slid out on my merry way. My keys were already in my hands as I took a deep breath and yelled. "BYE MY WRINKLY RAISINS! I LOVE YOU BOTH!" And with that being said, I locked the door behind me before leaving.
It wasn't long before I arrived at school, parking my black Dodge Challenger, I shut the car door behind me. Sarai was already waiting at the door, her golden orbs looking me up and down before speaking. "You don't care how you wake up. Huh?"
I shook my head and offered her some of my granola bar before we headed off. Sarai was like an older sister to me, she was the proud captain of the volleyball team, her only con was that she was bossy and also very blunt. If she didn't like you, she didn't like you.
We only had three classes together. First period in the morning, dance, then biology. First period was Mr. Jackson's class, he was a middle aged man, nice looking teacher but at the same time he wasn't one to play around with. After the announcements and what not, Mr. Jackson cleared his throat, after the class didn't catch on, the class president stood up to his feet. "Everyone be quiet!" The class shut up as he sat back down.
"Thank you Erick. Okay class, today we have a new guest. He's an exchange student from Korea. Please be nice and make him feel welcomed, you may take any empty seat available."
