Anti's POV

I could feel myself getting stronger. Pretty soon, Halloween would be here, and I could finally leave behind this godforsaken body for something a bit more... desirable.

"Hey dipsh*t, if you want to have that life, then get the h*ll over here and make sure that this idiot keeps working. I need to get something done."

I sighed. I had almost forgotten about that little catch. Him.

"Yes, sir."

I transformed into my spirit form (something that can only happen in October), and teleported to Los Angeles. I entered an old, abandoned apartment building. It was dusty, there was no light except the light from the windows, and looked like no one had been there in decades. I knew better.

"Glad to see you finally made it," said a deep voice behind me. I turned around to see my fri... my boss Darkiplier. His red eyes glowed brighter than I had ever seen.

"Ya said ta show up," I retorted. "Where is it?"

"Follow me," he answered. He started walking to the wall on the far side of the room. He took off a piece of wallpaper that had been Velcroed on, revealing a doorknob. Dark opened the door and walked into what would have been a completely dark room if not for the candles surrounding the walls.

Mark looked pathetic. His glasses were cracked, and he was covered in cuts and bruises. I had to stop myself from punching Dark in the face. A demon's host and the demon are virtually the same with a few slight differences. To do this to your host was grotesque to say the least. I actually felt bad for him. Mark Fischbach was not the same person as Mark Iplier, the guy who had betrayed his friends all those years ago. And yet Dark hated him simply because he had the same first name and appearance.

"It's only a means ta an end," l reminded myself. "When this is all over, I'll give Dark a piece o' my mind!"

"Make sure he keeps working while l'm gone," Dark growled. Before I could respond, Dark left.

I watched Mark toil away at making the machine. He didn't know I was there; the only person who can see a demon in their spirit form is the host, and that's probably for the best. I don't know what I would have done if I could've talked to him.

Dark came back about an hour later. I mumbled a farewell, and left as soon as I could. I couldn't wait for this to all be over.

Lyrics:

Inside lane
Missing exits
I'm glued to the pavement
Between the lines
I keep my gaze straight ahead
As the last stop flies by

No more waiting for the gun to fire
No more walking through revolving doors
I've gone around once
And I don't need to go around anymore
(It's time to break away)

Break away
Forget your sober case
Stop dwelling on empty words
Stop stalling in the doorway
(Stop stalling in the doorway)

Cancel the cruise control
Switch it into manual
Don't you wanna feel right again?
Don't you wanna feel whole?
Don't you wanna feel

Full steam through the setbacks
You can't win 'em all
But I'm proud I tried
I'm glad we had a dialogue
It's good to shape the mind

Speeding up the pace
Turnin' up the heat
Where I need to be for the first time
Taking risks
I'm casting off without a lifeline

Break away
Forget your sober case
Stop dwelling on empty words
Stop stalling in the doorway
(Stop stalling in the doorway)

Cancel the cruise control
Switch it into manual
Don't you wanna feel right again?
Don't you wanna feel whole?
Don't you wanna feel

Break away
Forget your sober case
Stop dwelling on empty words
Stop stalling in the doorway
