"Welcome to hell," Stan had mumbled to the rest of the Losers, who were standing in front of their school. They were all sick and tired of school, wishing it was summer instead of mid-winter. Bill groaned and looked at Stan. "Th-This whole t-town is hell," he stuttered out.

Beverly rolled her eyes. "We might as well get the day over with, right?" she groaned out. Eddie shook his head sleepily; he was not happy. He had woken up late, and he was a mess. He considered telling his mom that he was "sick" so he could stay home, tangled up in his blanket. But he was not in the mood to be dealing with his annoying mother, that would be coming to check in on him every 5 seconds.

His hair was a wavy mess, with bags under his eyes, he threw on the closest outfit he could find in his room; a pair of black ripped jeans and a dark grey knitted sweater that was too big for him. The freckles on his cheeks were faded because of the cold weather, making him more pale than he is tan.

They all started to walk into the school, passing the Bowers group. They looked over, seeing a new face in the swarm of boys. He was tall and lengthy, definitely not built like the muscular type, like the rest of Henry's goons. His skin was olive-colored,but pale-ish. He had dark brown eyes with a pair of thick framed glasses taking over his face, along with the curly and wavy mop of hair he had on his head.

The Losers had all turned and talked in hushed voices with each other, except Eds. He was still staring at the tall boy leaning against the wall, talking to Bowers and his goons, while holding a cigarette loose in his left hand.

Eddie had zoned out. 'God damn he's cute,' Eddie thought to himself. But he immediately snapped out of it when he head, "You like what you see?" The tall boy had stepped forward where he was now standing a couple feet in front of Eddie. The Losers snickered as Eddie tried not to look so embarrassed. The smell of his cigarette had ran towards him, filling the air. Eddie was silent; he was quiet and shy, staring at the concrete. The tall boy had looked down ad smiled, letting out a light laugh.

Bowers had stepped up. "He asked you a question, faggot," Henry growled. The tall boy had looked back up at Henry, who was too close to the smaller boy in front of them.

Eddie, frightened, had taken a step back, where he was closer to his friends.

"Bowers," the tall boy said while dropping his cigarette. "I was joking, don't be a dick. Leave him alone," he said in all seriousness while looking him in the eye.

The Losers were amazed; no one had talked to Henry like that, ever.

Henry look back over to the tall one. "Richie, in my town, we don't support fags. Now come on, let's go," Henry snapped at Richie, who was adjusting his glasses. Henry gave Eddie a glare before walking off with the new kid, Richie.

Eddie turned around to see the Losers in awe of what had just happened. Beverly smiled as she looked at the Losers. "Maybe school won't be hell anymore." Beverly started to walk towards the doors, and so did the rest of the group. Eddie and Stan were in the back. "Like what you see?" Stan mocked Richie. Eddie let out a small giggle as they stepped inside of their school.

The last bell was about to ring, as all the kids rushed out of the classrooms to get their stuff out of their lockers. Eddie was crowded while standing by Bev, opening their lockers. Beverly quickly put her stuff in and closed her locker. "I'll meet you at the quarry with everyone, okay?" she said in a soft tone. Eddie sighed and yawned, while nodding. She smiled while walking off. Eddie opened his locker lazily, but then a note fluttered onto the ground in front of him. He picked it up and unfolded the note.

'Meet me in the back of the school at 3:50  -R'

Eddie looked at the clock in the empty hallway: "3:46," Eddie groaned while shoving his stuff in his locker and closing it, and then started to sprint down the hallway to get to the back of the school on time.

He arrived at the back of the school, panting softly. He saw the tall boy, leaned against the wall, smoking another cigarette. Eddie walked toward him timidly, scared and curious; this boy could be the new Henry Bowers for all he knew. But he looked too sweet, and acted too nice to be like Bowers. Richie took another hit of his cigarette, then taking it out of his mouth and blowing the smoke into the air. He smiled lightly as Eddie came up beside him.

"Hello there," Richie said sweetly in a horrible Australian accent, making Eddie giggle. "Why did you need me?" Eddie asked.
"Don't know, you seem better than those assholes," Richie mumbled while tapping his cigarette, watching the ashes fall to the ground.
"Assholes... as in Bowers?" Eddie asked softly. Richie nodded. "What's your name, sweetheart?" he asked.

Eddie blushed at the name, and smiled. "Eddie, Eddie Kaspbrak."

Richie nodded. "I'm Richie Tozier," he said while blowing out more smoke from his cigarette. Richie took a step closer, where they were both almost holding hands; but they weren't. Eddie wished they were, but he knew Richie was probably straight.

"You friends look cool. The one with the red hair looks like Molly Ringwald," Richie had remarked. Eddie laughed at the word "cool". None of them were cool, at all.
"Cool is not the word for us," Eddie replied in a soft tone.

"Well, y'all look nice, Henry is always running his goddamn mouth about how dorky you guys are, it gets annoying," Richie said. Eddie nodded. "The red-head is Beverly," Eddie had told him, just so he wouldn't go up to her and call her Molly Ringwald; she would have hated that.

He smiled and gave a light nod. Richie look down at Eddie, holding out his cigarette. "Here, try it," he said with a smile.
Eddie had not smoked before, and he never planned to either. But he took it anyway and took a hit of it; immediately started to cough after.

Richie let out a laugh and said, "Never smoked?"
Eddie shook his head while his coughing fit calmed itself. Richie put the cigarette between his two fingers again.

Eddie sighed and asked, "What did you really want me here for?"
Richie looked at him. "Isn't it obvious?" he mumbled while leaned his face towards Eddie's a little bit. Eddie hummed lightly; he was anxious, but felt comforted in Richie's presence.

"I want you," Richie mumbled over Eddie's lips. Eddie leaned in all the way and kissed him; Richie kissing back a bit more roughly. Richie straightened up, making himself taller. He was almost the tallest kid in their grade. He was one foot taller than Eddie.

Eddie stood up on his toes, trying to e tall enough to kiss back more. Richie pulled back for a slight moment and went by his ear. "Jump," he whispered. Eddie nodded while jumping up a bit; Richie catching him by holding the bottom of his thighs. He turned so Eddie's back was leaned against the wall, and where we was hovering over Eddie in a way.

This lasted for a few minutes, until Eddie pulled back. "What if we get caught?" Eddie asked, a but breathless. Richie was silent for a few seconds. "We won't. Who the fuck goes to the back of the school at like 4:30 in the afternoon?" he asked.

Eddie giggled and Richie traced back to his lips. Richie soon started to go down from his lips and onto his neck, leaving a few small hickeys. Eddie bit his lips softly as Richie moved over his neck, leaving darker hickeys each time he moved to a different spot on his neck. Eddie let out a soft moan as Richie went down to his collar bone. He let out a louder moan, immediately blushing after, embarrassed. Richie smirked and continued to kiss his collar bone.

"Rich-" Eddie was about to say, but a small gasp came out of his mouth as Richie found his sweet spot. "Richie, I have s-somewhere to be," Eddie said, finally being able to get his words out without any other noises stopping him.

Richie pulled back from Eddie's neck, softly dropping Eddie back onto his feet. Eddie straightened his backpack straps.
"I guess we are now friends?" Richie said with a smile.
Eddie died a bit inside. 'Friends? How the fuck could we just be friends after tha-'
"Joking, Kaspbrak. I'll see you tomorrow," Richie said, interrupting Eddie's thought. Richie then winked and walked away.
