To say I was nervous would be an understatement.

Countless times I've visited where he lived with his members and every time I've been a nervous wreck. I'm always mildly intimidated whenever I'm around them. Even being in a relationship with Taehyung for nine months haven't eased this worry.

The fact that they were celebrities was never part of the reason. It's just me being me, wondering what they must think of me. Think of us. There is still so much I have to learn of Taehyung and they know everything about him.

I envy this but from admiration and not jealousy.

Tonight however, I will not let my shy nature interfere. Taehyung told me everyone wouldn't be there but most will. I'm not worried so much about interruption. Being able to spend my birthday around caring individuals was enough to make me feel welcomed whether it be two or twenty.

We passed by a streetlight that highlighted my brief reflection in the window of the red blouse underneath my coat. I hope I wasn't being too cliche wearing the color of love on the day of love. A while ago, I bought this beautiful vintage blouse I thought would have been perfect for this day. I even straightened my hair for the occasion. I made as much of an effort as I could to look nice fo him.

I really hope I do.

A familiar turn into his neighborhood made my heart race abundantly. I took out my phone to text him that I was here as the car stopped in front of his place. Taking lots of low and heavy breaths, I buttoned my coat back to shield myself from the cold and held the Valentine's Day gifts tight in my hand.

The driver opened the door for me; I got out and bowed in thanks before hurrying out of the cold.

Once inside, I made my way to his apartment door, my pulse in sync with my steps. I could feel it throbbing in my neck.

With one final breath, I rang his doorbell and waited. The door opened quicker than I wanted it to and I was met with a very warm smile.

"Shae!" His forever cheerful voice greeted me, opening the door further to let me in.

"Hi Hobi!" I slipped off my shoes and pushed them aside before he solicited a hug to me, oddly, it made me very comfortable.

Why do I even get nervous in the first place?

"Happy Birthday!" He exclaimed as we pulled away. "How was your day?"

Nice. Always extremely nice.

"Thank you! It was great! I had to work and it's Valentine's Day so lots of love in the atmosphere. How was your day?" I smiled.

"Fine! It's been a little quiet here after working. Namjoon and Yoongi are out but the rest of us are just hanging around. Jin fixed us dinner and we saved some for you." Hobi answered.

"Wow! That's very sweet! Thank you!" Even more nice. I think I worry for nothing sometimes.

Tiny little barks invaded the atmosphere as Tannie and Taehyung made their way over to Hobi and I. Taehyung's blazing carob hazed eyes met mine and I blushed. Hard. If they could show it, my cheeks would be as red as a tomato.

"See you Shae!" Hobi waved as he walked away to give us privacy.

Taehyung drew closer toward me, never taking his stare away from me. He reached out once our distance gradually closed and held me in his arms, whispering in my ear how pretty he thought I was.

He pulled away and offered to take my coat. I wrangled it off my body after I handed him his gifts. His smile was wide with a low sigh.

"These are mine?" He asked as he extended his arm and I laid my coat over it.

"The big one is. The small one is for Tannie." I grinned as I reached down to pick him up.

Taehyung guided me down the hall to his room. Once inside, he placed the gifts on a small table and hung my coat up in his already full to capacity closet. I don't know how he even squeezed it in.

Our gazes met once more before I watched his eyes wander over my attire. Given the smile on his face, I would say that he approved it.

He picked up the gifts and we sat on his bed.

"Open Tannie's first." I suggested as I gave the mini teddy bear in my arms a light squeeze. "I missed you." I mumbled into him.

Taehyung opened the small box, eyes smiling when he lifted the small nameplate from it. He peered over at me.

With practice, I responded to his wonder in his native tongue, explaining that it was custom made.

Taehyung's eyes perked when I was done. "Wow! That was good. You're getting better." He leaned in and gave me a small peck on the lips. "Thank you." He whispered before easing away.

"You're welcome. Yours next." I gripped my bottom lip in anticipation of his reaction.

Taehyung set aside Tannie's nameplate and opened his gift. He instantly smiled at the Gucci box before lifting the cover and gasping at what was inside. He pulled it out and held it against him.

"Shae, this is...hmm...very nice."

"I just thought that you would want to have something comfortable to slip into when you're in your hotel room during your tour. There were slippers as well but I know how you feel about shoes."

Taehyung grinned on my last statement and folded the pajama set back neatly, placing it in the box. He leaned in close to me once more.

"Happy Valentine's Day, " I whispered before taking his kiss.

"Hmm...now it's my turn." He moaned with a sly smile.

Just like that, I was nervous again.

He took Tannie away from me and told me to sit still. I nodded while watching him take a small, half heart shaped paper and handed it to me. He kissed me on the cheek and left the room, closing the door behind him.

I glanced down and read the script on it. The first part of his message was written in Hangul but it was translated below it.

Half I read to myself.

What is he up to?
