"Haaahhh..."

"Brother," Lilianne twitched, "That's the thirteenth time you sighed. Stop it. You made me nervous."

"I'm bored." I replied, propping my chin on my hand. "I don't see why we must do this."

"You are weird." Mother chuckled. "Most kids are waiting for this and lost a night worth a sleep out of anxiety but you were bored."

Well, sorry for finding Social Gala activities boring. Because all we will do would be dancing, chatting, eating and drink from buffet table and be done with it. Sure sure, my behavior would be critize as this my first debut, but to hell with it. I can do better things with my time instead standing like some goddamn statue. Like researching book about Magic and Ritual and Gods.

I still haven't find anything worthwhile about that one god I really interested at.

"Maybe you really should get another fiance." Lilianne muttered dryly. "Then you'll motivated to attend Party."

I wrinkled my nose. "No thanks. Asher is enough for me. Why he can't come again?"

"Umm... some Noble are racist prude? A manservant that still in training? Too crude and too skittish to attend high class party?"

That was rhetoric question, my dear sister. But, thanks. Now my mood is even lower than before.

"Think I can fake being sick and go home early?"

"Nope." Father and Mother replied in unison.

Awe-friggin-some (insert sarcasm here).

"Master, Madam, Young Master, Miss," the steward called out for us, "we're almost arrived."

Saying thanks to him, I checked my appearance once again. White dress shirt, red vest, black waist-length overcoat with standing collar, black dress pants, and fancy dress shoe. Satisfied with it, I fiddling with my cravat (why do I have to wear this?!) and "fix" it.

I have this tick where I fiddle with watch or armbands or bracelet when bored, but since I have none at the moment, cravat is suitable replacement.

"Ne, Brother." Lilianne said. "Do you think Prince Claude would like my dress?" she refers to her off shoulder white dress with elbow-length sleeve and rose embrodiery at the skirt.

I hid a grimance.

She's the most excited about coming to the party because that Second Prince would be here.

"I don't know. But you are pretty for me." I replied truthfully. "Either way, please, please, do remember to not squeeze the life out of him. This is the first time two of you meet so give your best impression ok? No one like being squeezed to death or screeched to deaf."

"Indeed." Father agrees with me. "Squealing like common peasant is... unbecoming and disturbing. You should know better than that."

"...okay." Reluctantly, she nodded.

I let out a relieved breath.

After few agonizingly long moment, we finally arrived at our destination. Duke Laufreya's residence.
