"How did you know I like that band?"
"To ge honest, I didn't. I just saw one of their songs a week or two ago and decided to check it out. I liked this song, and I wanted to learn it, so I did. And I thought you'd probably like it."

Zelda smiled at him again. "That makes it even better."
Link smiled. "I have something else for you."
He walked over to his bag and pulled the chocolates and owl out, along with a card that he had made last night. He had tied a red ribbon around them. He handed them to Zelda, and her grin grew. He gratefully took it and hugged it close to her chest.

"The chocolates might be a little squished. Sorry about that."
"No, it's fine! This is amazing! I have something for you, too."
She gently set it down next to her bag and took something out. It was a plastic bag that seemed pretty full. It was a wonder how she managed to fit that into her already stuffed backpack.

She gave it to him, and he looked inside. There were all sorts of things. Candy, a card, a little toy, and more. He looked back up at her with a smile, then he put the bag down and threw his arms around her.

This was the best day he had had in ages. It almost let him forget about Mipha for a little while. Almost.

*after school*

Link sat on his bed, looking down at the floor. Today had been pretty good, but... something felt a little... empty. It felt like the day was missing something.

He sighed. Why was he in this weird mood?
He sighed again and turned his phone on. He plugged his earbuds in and listened to some music.

The music he was listening to was by the same band that wrote the song he sang for Zelda earlier.

He noticed that the person was friends with another songwriter, so he decided to check them out. The very first song he listened to clicked with him. So, naturally, he looked up the chords and got his guitar out.

He had gotten it down pretty well, so now he just had to put the singing with it. That should be relatively easy.

He took a deep breath and started playing.

"All of the time, I'm thinking 'bout things too much
And then I end up out of touch
And feel a lot less real than before
I speak a lot of words but tend to say a lot less
I'm just a fuckin' mess
And I will shut my bedroom door

And as I iron out my brain
To speak to ice cream stains
I'll stare at the ceiling stars and wonder why life's so hard
Locking the door, I will talk to my floor
And I'll say

Oh, my friend
I'm not sure what to do
To get out of this goo that I absorb
How to stop myself?
Hell, if I know
As above, so below, I'm my own damn spirit orb

Most of the time I'm scooping mud and digging graves
In these saltwater caves
And overgrown hospitals the like
I'll step along the way to tell the frogs and toadstools about
How I hate this body
And they'll say, oh they'll say

"We would like to help you but
It seems you're living in dreams, come back to reality"
I'll cry "Wait!" and I will wake up late again

And in the morning, once more
I will speak to the floor and I'll say

Oh, my friend
I'm not sure what to do
To get out of this goo that I absorb
How to stop myself?
Hell, if I know
As above, so below, I'm my own damn spirit orb"

He smiled. That was pretty good. He liked that song.
He played it a few more times, enjoying the whole time.

Zelda sat at the piano, her phone propped up where the music sheets would usually go. She had found a song she liked and wanted to play, so while her dad wasn't home, she decided to play it.

She studied the notes on her phone screen and found the right spot on the piano. Then, she slowly started to play.

She hummed along with the song as she found the right keys.
She loved when she had the chance to do this, which wasn't too often, since her dad insisted that she play "actual music."

Once she felt satisfied with this song, she decided to play a song that she had pretty much memorized. It was one if her favorites, along with the song Link had played for her.

"Often I am upset
That I cannot fall in love
But I guess
This avoids the stress of falling out of it

Are you tired of me yet?
I'm a little sick right now
But I swear
When i'm ready I will fly us out of here

I'll cut my hair

To make you stare

I'll hide my chest
And i'll figure out a way to get us out of here.

Turn off your porcelain face
I can't really think right now in this place
There's too many colors
Enough to drive all of us insane

Are you dead?
Sometimes I think I'm dead
Cause I can feel ghosts and ghouls wrapping my head
But i don't wanna fall asleep just yet

My eyes went dark

I don't know where

My pupils are
But i'll figure out a way to get us out of here

Get a load of this monster
He doesn't know how to communicate
His mind is in a different place
Will everybody please give him a little bit of space

Get a load of this trainwreck
His hair's a mess and he doesn't know who he is yet
But little do we know the stars welcome him with open arms

Oh

Time is

Slowly

Tracing his face
But strangely he feels at home in this place."
