Chapter 41: Why? Why Us? Why this?

Liam’s Point Of View

I sat in the waiting room with my head in my hands. Louis and Zayn were pacing next to me anxious for Erin and Ana to get here. I couldn’t even focus on that though. Niall, my best friend is in the hospital and its killing me that the doctors won’t tell us anything, since we aren’t actually family. Just then Ana and Erin came rushing in.

Ana-What’s going on?

Erin-Are they okay?

Naturally they both looked to me since I’m daddy direction, but I just shook my head and turned away.

Erin-What does that mean? Are they dead? Oh no, no, no, no, they can’t be dead.

Louis-Shh, they aren’t dead. Liam isn’t taking it well at all.

Louis wrapped his arms around her and pulled her down onto the chair with him.

Ana-Well do we know anything?

Zayn just shook his head.

Zayn-No, the doctors won’t talk to us since none of us are related to them.

Ana-Well they have to tell us something since we are the only ones here.

We all sat in silence for a few moments.

Erin-Well I sorta have an idea.

Everyone turned to face her.

Louis-What is it babe?

Erin-Well maybe I could pretend to be Hannah’s cousin, then they have to tell me something…

Me-But that isn’t going to get us any information on Niall.

Harry-Then I’ll go with as his cousin.

Me-That doesn’t seem very convincing, two cousins?

Rachel-They could say they were coming to visit them at their new house.

Zayn-Rachel that is actually a good idea.

Ana-Then it’s settled, go you two!

Erin and Harry exchanged glances and then went looking for Hannah and Niall’s doctors. I felt so helpless, there was nothing I could do to help my best friend, and it wasn’t fair. I needed to get my mind off of things so I walked outside to call Danielle.

Danielle-Hello?

Me-Hey babe.

Danielle-Oh hi Liam. Are you okay? You don’t sound too good.

I heard a deep voice in the background, she must be out.

Me-No, I’m not okay at all.

Danielle-What’s wrong?

Me-Everything is falling apart. Niall was in a car accident and the doctor’s won’t tell us what is wrong with him or Hannah.

Instead of sounding concerned or worried at all she started giggling. Then I heard that deep voice again.

Me-Dani? Are you even listening to me?

Danielle-Huh? What did you say?

Me-I said…

But I was cut off by her talking to someone else.

Danielle-Stop! No seriously stop! I cant right now. James! Liam is on the phone you are going to get us caught.

Me-Caught doing what Danielle?

It was silent. And I just laughed.

Me-Thanks for being concerned Dani. My best friend is in the hospital and you are cheating on me. Well we are over now so have fun with James or what ever the fuck his name is.

And with that I hung up on her and slowly made my way back inside. Why is everything so messed up? Why put Niall and Hannah in danger? Why? They didn’t do anything wrong. I picked up one of the chairs and threw it against a wall.

Me-Fuck you!

I was about to throw something else when Zayn pulled me away and back outside.

Zayn-What the hell Liam?

Me-What? I can’t get mad and throw something?

Zayn-Not in a hospital you can’t. What’s really wrong?

Me-It’s not fair! Why Hannah and Niall? And then on top of everything I have to deal with my relationship with Danielle ending.

Zayn-What?

Me-Yeah, she’s been cheating on me and I caught her at a bad time today.

Zayn-I’m so sorry man.

Me-Whatever, that’s not important now. Did Erin and Harry get any news?

He shook his head and turned to go back in. I followed him and just as we sat down Harry and Erin came back.
