A long time ago, about 100 years from now, the demons started a war with the humans in order to completely exterminate them. The humans were weaker than the demons.
They had fewer soldiers than the demons and they were also weaker in power since demons possessed great physical strength and had great magic reserves which allowed them to cast stronger spells than humans.
As years went by, the humans were slowly but surely overwhelmed by those demonic creatures and they were on the verge of becoming extinct but on a certain day, 15 years ago, a miracle happened.
As the demon army was approaching the human capital and the human soldiers were trying their best to hold them back, a huge shadow separated the two armies and a man covered in darkness could be seen in between them.
The man emanated such a deadly aura that everything around him became lifeless. The flowers and other plants around withered, while the demons and humans being too close to that man started falling on the ground before losing their lives.
This spectacle made both sides tremble in fear as they tried to back away from that individual but right at that moment, the man dashed towards the demons and suddenly disappeared from their view.
After a few moments, the demons started getting beheaded one after another by that mysterious being.
All that the demons could do was cry and shiver in terror while watching all their comrades fall to the ground since they had no means of fighting against their enemy, the man moving so fast that you couldn't spot him with the naked eye.
The only demon left now was their leader, Arsen, who was much stronger than a normal demon and that saved him from his comrades' gruesome death as he blocked the man's strike.
The man backed away from the demon and right after the demon asked:
‚Just what the hell are you? How dare you massacre my army! You will pay for what you've ...'
As he was finishing his threat, he was stopped by that man's cold glare filled with killing intent which made the demon's mouth stop moving.
All that Arsen could see in the man's eyes was complete darkness and pure madness. That one glare was enough to make the demon kneel before the man while praying for mercy.
Arsen's eyes were shaking from fear and he couldn't take this anymore so he rapidly jumped back up and tried to run away but he was beheaded as well in a mere second.
Every human present was astonished by the scene unfolding in front of them but they were also afraid that man would come after them next.
One of the humans, the army's general, mustered some courage and started getting closer to the man but not too close since he saw what happened to the ones foolish enough to get near him.
He wanted to give his gratitude to the man for saving their kingdom but he didn't have the chance to do that since the man was already gone by the time he got closer.
That day marked the end of the war and also the beginning of a new dawn.
The actions of that mysterious man were considered to be a miracle so the humans dedicated this day to him by organizing The Festival Of The Dark God every year on the same day.
On the last day of the war, in a small village close to the capital, a small baby was left in front of a local church. When the priest opened the door, he saw that there was nobody nearby other than the child.
He took her in and found a note in the basket that she was in saying:
‚Please, take care of my daughter, Alicia.'
