Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
And ah, take me out, and take me home
You're my, my, my, my lover

Brooke Davis awoke in her own apartment. The sun shining through the window had pulled her from her dreaming. She let out a loud yawn, before turning onto her left side and looking at the clock on the bedside table: 11:00AM. 'Wow, I got a lot of sleep last night.' Lazily, she rolled out of bed and pulled a silk robe around herself. "Breakfast time," she said aloud, walking out of her bedroom into the kitchen.

She rooted through her cupboards for a clean bowl, and poured an abundance of cereal into it, before drowning it with milk. She took her breakfast over into the living area, sitting on the couch and turning on the TV. 'It's kinda weird being here on my own,' she thought to herself, while eating several spoonfuls of cereal. Brooke was used to being in an empty house when she was living with her barely existent parents, but she was so used to Lucas' company now, it was weird when he wasn't around.

While he spent most of his nights with Brooke, Lucas had decided to take the opportunity to spend a night at Keith's apartment. They had take-out, played video games and just had a general catch up. He had missed Keith like crazy. Lucas woke up on the couch in Keith's living room, to Keith holding a plate of french toast in front of him. "The smell's so good it brought me out of sleep," Lucas joked, pulling himself up into a seated position, taking the plate from Keith's hands. "Thanks, Keith."

"Don't mention it. I know my cooking skills aren't as amazing as your mom's, but I can sure as hell try." They both laughed, like old times. "Speaking of your mom, how are things going with her and that New Zealand guy?" Keith enquired about Karen's love interest.

"Andy?" Lucas raised his eyebrow in suspicion. "Well, she went to visit him in New Zealand a few months ago, but she hasn't really spoke too much about him. I'm pretty sure they're just good friends at this point. The distance n' all."

Lucas saw Keith's eyes light up momentarily. "Oh, I see. Well, it's good that they're friends."

"Why do you ask?" Lucas asked, with a knowing smile.

"Umm," Keith started sipping his cup of coffee. "Just general interest."

"And you couldn't have just asked mom that?" Lucas chuckled, lightheartedly. "Keith, do you wanna ask my mom out?" He kinked his eyebrow. "If you do, you know you totally have my permission, right?"

"Really?" Keith smiled vibrantly. "I'm just worried, what with our complicated history..."

"Keith, I can't think of a better person for my mom than you. Try it out! You always regret the things you don't do."

"You're right," Keith began, standing up swiftly and pacing the apartment. "I have no idea how to go about this but, god dammit, I will make it work!" Lucas laughed at his uncle, and carried on eating his french toast.

12:00PM and Brooke was still planted on her couch, entranced by an episode of MTV Cribs. "Why can't I have a house like that?" Brooke asked no one, pouting heavily. Her pouting was interrupted by the sound of her cell phone ringing. Caller ID: Lucas. Immediately, she answered the phone.
