It starts with you being born
You take your steps and try not fall
You say your first words that no one owns
Time goes by and your already going to school
You wave good bye to your mother
And  give her a hug when she's back to pick you up
For every ceremony she's there cheering you on
You graduated elementary now comes middle school
You grow up you hit the stage your a pre teenager
Every problem you have your mom is there
Every issue or insecurity she motivates you
You culminate your in tears your growing up
High school comes, it's not what the movies show
You worked hard you pushed and fight
Your mom besides you with every battle
Then comes the day your going to college
There goes your childhood life with your teen days
Years pass and you yourself are a mom
But in reality not everyone is lucky
Mom never picked you up, or got a hug after school
Always to busy at work
When you have the elementary Christmas concert to sing
You look around to see if by chance mom came
But all to find nothing but other parent
Mom was never there to say lovely words
You had to do everything alone
Middle school came and nothing really changed
Mom was violent, mom never had time
My sisters needed the attention but what about you?
High school came and you noticed
All the good stories of mother and daughter
In reality are not always true and dark but true
You made up stories to fit in, to pretend your mother was there
You never got told those beautiful words
On how thankful your mom was of you or how proud
Until your mom realized that you were growing up
You were no longer a child
You no longer looked for her attention
You went your own way but one day
She came to you when doing homework
How was school today? She asked
You always trying to talk to her when you get home
But her not being able to listen because she was to busy
You always just talked to yourself
And those words cheered you up
Through the years your mom finally saw you
You were her daughter but not everyone
Has a mother to vent on in reality things are hard
But you made it through and now your in a new life
