Pluviophile (n) a lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days.

--

Sabi nila nakaka-mesmerize daw ang mga rain lovers. Papaano daw nila nagagawang maging masaya sa isang gloomy na weather.

Pero ang hindi nila alam, ang ulan ang nagdadala sa mga ito ng peace of mind. The moment these people hear that it's raining outside, their soul becomes at peace. A rainy mood makes them feel like yung mga problema nila pansamantalang nawawala. Even its scent can feel as though it's cleansing their soul.

For rain lovers, it isn't a symbol of depression or sadness but instead, they find it quite comforting. Siguro sa iba nakakairita ang tunog ng pagpatak ng ulan sa lupa o sa mga bubong ng bahay nila, but for rain lovers, the find it quite peaceful.

Rainy days give you solace when you are bothered by past traumatic events, and that stimulates your mental strength; it gives you a new lease on life.

When things get a little rough in life, these are the people who will remind you that "this too shall pass." In fact, sila yung mga taong ginagawang opportunities ang mga challenges na kinakaharap nila. Sabi nila ang mga challenges daw na ito ang dahilan bakit sila matatag. They seize every lesson they can get because you don't get rainbows unless you also have rain, right? Sabi nga sa isang kanta, there's always a rainbow after the rain.

Water is life. Rain brings water and, by extension, continuity of life. The sound of rain, therefore, renews your hopes of continuous growth. Para sa kanila, ang ulan ang pag-asa. Loving the rain can mean loving the darkness. And loving the darkness can mean na handa kang harapin ang liwanag at sikat ng araw na hudyat ng bagong pag-asa.

For some naman, the rain brings out some hidden passions within them, and they therefore consider their attachment to the rain to be a hobby. Ang iba, mas nagiging productive kapag umuulan. They can look outside their window while raining and get some inspiration from it. For others, the attachment and good feeling comes naturally, and they cannot explain why the feeling only comes when it rains.

In short, for some people the rain makes them feel safe and sound.

And for some people...

The rain sometimes hides their tears too.
