Preening refers to the act of "fixing oneself" in different ways.
It could be adjusting his clothes, running fingers through his hair, or touching his face.
After all, if he like you he want to look better around you. And of course, men are naturally fidgety when his anxious and nervous.
And if he like you, it's likely that he'll be experiencing nervous tension.
