chapter 1: demon mother

=y/n's point of view =

"wake up sweetie! " mother said walking me up
I smiled and ate breakfast with my family

"tanjiro! " mother yelled out the window

"yes (your mother's name)-san? Do you need coal? "a very familiar voice asked

Ah yes Tanjiro a friend of mine, hard working kind hearted, has a good sense of smell and good looking too but eh... Doubt I'd fall for him

"tanjiro-kun! " I called out earning a smile from him

"why hello y/n-chan" he greated as he gave coal to mom

"mom I'm going out! " I said getting out of the house for a while only to be pulled back inside of our house

I gave my parents a questioning look

"there are demons around nighttime " dad informed, I nodded and went back my room

Confused I just shrugged it off and got comfortable in my futon and soon fell asleep

Clinck clanck

"what?... " I mumbled under my breath only enough for me to hear

It sounded like metal...i went to check outside my room only to see blood blood everywhere
My entire body stiffened at the sight as anxiety
Crawled my back

What if they're dead!? What if they killed each other?...

More and more questions lingered my mind

"y/n?" my father's shaking voice called

"dad!? " I answered looking for him in the dark
Once I did I hugged him tightly

"get to safety ,it's coming for both of you" someone said cutting me off I looked up to see a guy

I couldn't make out his face because it was covered by a mask that looks like a fox ,the moonlight shone through the open windows letting me see his figure a bit clearer

"c'mon!" father said pulling me in my room

We shut the door lock not letting anything in

"dad where's mom?? " I asked worried

He just started sobbing and mumbling

"that's.... Your mother.... " he said between his sobs, as much I as I wanted to know what happened I had to stop and comfort my father

A few minutes passed and everything was silent, dead silent all I could hear was me and my father's heavy breathing

The door creaked open to reveal the guy from before

"you're now safe... " he said with a voice like silk yet still husky

I left the room to get my father water, then I thought about mother

"hey what happened to my mother? " I asked

"I'm sorry... But she's been turned a demon and I had to kill her.. "  his voice was very sorry, I couldn't help but silently cry

~times skip to morning~

I haven't slept since last night , the guy stayed with us to clean the house and make a small offering for my mother who recently became a demon and was killed

"how rude of me.." he gasped bowing a bit
