Prologue

The calm, pouring rain was not enough to sooth the raven haired male's mind, for the despair he felt had already began drowning him. His body was drenched and chilled to the very core, the umbrella he once held had been discarded, and was now lying in a puddle on the rain-soaked ground. Sirens were blaring on the road in front of him, surrounding a completely wrecked car, their lights a blinding shade of blue, white and red.

Could this have been different? Maybe... If he were quicker... If only he weren't as rude... Maybe she wouldn't have-

No. He shouldn't blame himself for this... But, he couldn't help it. It really was his fault. He was the one who kept asking, begging her for trivial things, acting ungrateful. Why did it have to happen this way? He... He didn't mean it when he said she was the one at fault. Hell, he didn't even get to say he was sorry.

And now, she was the one to pay the price. All because of him. His heart ached, burning with grief and despair.

It was all his fault...
