                   ~ Betty's POV ~

Day 5475, it's been 15 years since I arrived at the Sisters, where my god forsaken mother left me.

15 years I've been trapped under this roof, with nothing but betraying, self absorbed teens.

Today I turned 17, aka, a year before I get to leave this place without needing my mothers signature.

But I couldn't wait another year. I was leaving tonight, whether the Sisters or even my mom approved of it or not. (And they most definitely wouldn't).

I didn't bother to pack any clothes, I just wanted to leave.

The only thing left to do was wait till sundown, where my plan would take action.
                                ♕ ♕

My roomate, Ethel, walked into the room liked she owned the place.

I rolled my eyes at her.

"So what are you doing tonight?", she pried.

"Sister Woodhouse wants me to run errands for her.", I replied, thinking fast.

She stuck her nose up. "What? So late?"

"Yes. Would you like to ask her?"

I could tell Ethel was about to give me the third degree.

She blinked a couple of times and sat down beside me on the metal bed.

"It's not good to lie, Elizabeth. Sister Woodhouse asked me to keep a close eye on you."

Crap.

I was caught in a lie in I couldn't escape.

"Maybe I was lying. Maybe I just wanted to sneak some more candy."

Ethel looked at me like a mother would at a child.

"Dear, dear, Elizabeth. Don't you understand? I caught you. You're confined to your room."

"What?! Says who?!"

She plastered her face with a sly grin, "Oh, did I forget to mention that Sister Woodhouse asked me to be co-head of our department?"

My eyes widened, shocked by the sudden act of Sister Woodhouse.

But now that I was confined to my room, thanks to Ethel, my only hope of escaping through the underground passage was gone.

She smirked at me. "Sorry to ruin your plans, but I'm serious, you're confined."

She turned around, but stopped at the doorframe.

"Actually, I'm not that sorry. Anyway, I'm coming back with boxes to pack up my stuff. I have a much bigger room now"

That trashy bitch.

She turned back around and continued walking.

My head spun, thinking of another way to escape.

Maybe another day, just not today.

But I couldn't wait another day. I couldn't even wait another hour.
