Another morning, another day, another moment of pain. Arthur woke up, with a sick feeling in his stomach as the sun shone through his windows. Arthur fluttered his eyes open slightly, letting his sore eyes attempt to adapt to the bright light. Arthur rolled onto his side away from his blinds, trying to clear his thoughts. The pain in his stomach almost immediately increased when he thought about an excuse for not eating breakfast. He clutched his small stomach tighter as he thought longer and harder. Maybe a midnight snack, maybe just finally not hungry, or...The list went on of excuses Arthur could think of for himself. He opened his eyes properly and slowly struggled to sit up on the edge of his bed, looking around his messy room. He rubbed his eyes and stretched, his hoodie lifting up to reveal his skinny waist. No one else was in his room but Arthur still quickly self consciously pulled down his shirt, hiding his fragile body.
Arthur shakily stood up, getting a little dizzy by the speed he did it. As he regained his focus and composure, he went on a hunt in his room for his clothing. He walked to his closet and opened it, revealing it to be half empty. One side was practically empty with only a few lonely pairs of pants or hoodies, the other was full of shirts and shorts he never wore anymore, but therefor were great at hiding some of his darkest secrets.
Arthur turned his attention away from his shirts and shorts, and back to the hoodies and pants. He grabbed a gray hoodie and some black sweatpants. Cliché, right? Arthur sighed and walked back to his bed where he quickly got out of his night wear and changed, trying to avoid looking at himself, but honestly failed. He saw all his faults, everything he hated about himself. The way his legs looks, his stomach, which he was so to say working on, his arms...everything, except his face, he didn't have a mirror in his room, and refused to have one too. Arthur folded up his sleepwear and placed it on his bed, straightening out his covers and bedsheet, before walking to his door, pushing past a pile of books. He grabbed his doorknob, but quickly let got and quickly smoothed down his hair slightly before opening the door.
Arthur walked out of his room into his shared apartment on his campus. He walked to where the bathroom is, looking around for his loud and obnoxious roommate. Arthur had a moment of relief, before he heard loud footsteps followed by a loud voice. Arthur sighed and rolled his eyes as his roommate walked up to him. He put his hand on Arthurs' should looking down at him with his Goofy smile. "Dude! You totally should have come to that party last night!" he practically yelled in Arthur's face. "Alfred, for the last bloody time, I'm not going to any parties, I'm hear the study, that's it, now if you excuse me," Arthur said while lifting Alfred's hand off his shoulder", I need to get ready for my morning class."
Arthur walked off into their shared bathroom as Alfred just laughed and walked into their small kitchen. Arthur shut the door and locked it. Arthur grumbled to himself about Alfred out of annoyance? Jealousy? Jealousy that Alfred was actually wanted by people and cared for or that he could handle social situations without being worried about how he looks every 0.5 seconds.
Arthur grabbed his comb and quickly ran it through his hair, getting every knot out, but styling it the same way as usually. He ran his hand up through his hair, and just like that, Arthur was done with his hair. He next grabbed his toothbrush and quickly brushed his teeth, taking in his details in the mirror as he did that.
He noticed the dark bags under his eyes, that no one else seemed to notice. He also saw his emerald green eyes, which once used to be full of life and excitement, but was now just dead and dark, holding back tears and hiding secrets. He saw his cheek bones sticking out slightly, making his face look skinny and boney, but once again, no one noticed. He saw all his flaws and thought about how much better he might look if he had different face shape, or nose or different body in general. Maybe a body with muscles that people like and were attracted to. But he didn't, so that's why he had to change, and he was doing so.
