Sang's P.O.V.

I slam on my breaks and put the car in park before getting out. A white house looms from behind a rusted fence. While it seems quiet and serene, I'm far from feeling at ease.

A negative aura is emanating from the house, I can feel it from where I'm standing. If I didn't know it already, I would bet that somebody in this house needs an exorcism.

I slip around the gate to get to the front door. Like I usually do in this sort of situation, I let myself into the house. I'm here to save the man's wife.

There's a man who's right in front of the door, taking me by surprise. He has sandy blonde hair with gentle curls and dazzling green eyes.

"Are you the man who called about your wife?," I ask.

"No, I'm here to help Mary. I'm a Doctor," he says. "So looks like your services are not required."

Yeah, that's not happening. A possessed woman doesn't need a Doctor and the husband called us, so I'm not leaving.

And it's not like I can tell the Doctor that the woman is possessed. That is a downfall of what I do. Having to protect people while being careful not reveal anything about the dark forces that surround us.

"Her husband called me, so if you would just let me in...," I trail off, hoping he'll just give in.

The doctor looks intrigued. His green eyes look right through me, as if he's trying to read my mind.

"I've got the situation under control. But it is very good of you to ask after Mary."

I narrow my eyes. I don't trust this guy. And after my encounter with the demon just a little bit ago, I'm going to remain cautious.

I flash him a polite smile and the close my eye to try and get in his mind. Human's minds are very easy to get into.

"Ma'am are you alright?," the Doctor asks, causing me to open my eyes in frustration. I wasn't able to get anything.

I would love to be able to read people's minds without it taking any time or concentration.

Maybe I'm tired from the fight with that demon.

"I really need to get in."

"I assure you, Mary is going to be taken care of. Go home."

His voice and demeanor have completely changed. I have a feeling he knows I tried to get into his head.

He seems irritated and we both glare at each other for a moment. Neither of us are backing down.

"I'm not trying to interfere with your job, however her husband called me specifically You must let me in," I try to reason with him, but I'm losing my patience.

"After I've tended to Mary, then you can see her. Alright?" This time, I can see the amusement in his eyes. This man really gets on my nerves.

He again makes no move to let me in. I really don't want to mess up his pretty face, but if he continues like this I might just have to.

Thankfully, Mary's husband finally intervenes. "Doctor Green? Let Ms. Sorenson in, she's been sent to me. It'll be better with the two of you... My poor Mary."

Dr. Green looks over his shoulder and lets out a sigh. "Two of you?," I ask. Is he a Protector too?

"Okay, Mary's husband asked for you too it seems. I give in. I'm Sean Green."
