Alex- Unfamiliar Surroundings

    The smell of a freshly mowed lawn assaults my nose. The smell agitates me, forcing a groan out of my tired body. My bed feels a lot fuzzier than normal. I stretch myself out and yawn.

    "What the..." I mumble, spitting fuzz out my mouth and opening my eyes.

    My eyes widen and I immediately scramble to my feet. I'm not in my room or in my house. I'm outside but everything is... different. The trees have light blue leaves, there is no grass it's just yellow fuzz, and the houses are huge. I look up at the sky and see that it's dark green with dark blue clouds.

    "Where am I?" I whisper to myself while looking around.

    Suddenly a big black creature with two gold eyes, two red eyes, and a green eye starts jogging my way. Two small horns sit on its head, that is covered in black hair. An involuntary whimper escapes me as I look at the things claws. They're about two inches long, sharp, and white.

As it's about to pass me those gold and red eyes look over to me, while the green one still looks forward. It immediately stops and turns its whole body to me. It's face has a look of confusion and it walks closer. An embarrassingly high pitched scream escapes my throat causing the creature to cover its small pointed ears.

I look at it again and my eyes start to fall from its face. I look at its clothes and see a red shirt with white shorts.

It takes two steps back and stares curiously at me. It takes an oval shaped thing out of its pocket and points it at me.

    I whimper and cover my head with my arms fearing that it's a weapon. There's a noise that sounds like a click followed by a weird noise that sounds like gurgling.

    The thing has its hand next to me while watching me. I freeze in fear and look at the hand then up at the monster. It starts to gurgle at me. I soon realize it's trying to talk to me. The hand that's in front of me by my arm starts to reach for my head.

I start to panic and quickly back away. I accidentally trip myself with my own foot and fall onto my butt.

    The monster looks at me with what looks like worry. I stare back at it with fear. It reaches for me but I quickly back away.

    "No! Please!" It looks surprised at first but then with even more curiosity.

I stay frozen. I'm too scared to move. My eyes follow its hand as I watch it reach into its pocket. While its distracted I slowly stand up and run away. There's a forest that's behind the houses that I quickly run into.

Once I'm far enough into the forest and realize the monster isn't chasing me I stop and drop to my knees. My pants and gasps for air is the only sound that can be heard. Sweat drips from my forehead and sides of my face onto the fuzz that I guess is grass.

"This has to be a dream," I tell myself out loud.

The bushes around me start to shake. They shake for awhile until something jumps out of it. I quickly try to crawl away but it jumps on my back causing me to yelp out of fear. I can hear it sniffing me. Suddenly it falls off and starts making weird noises. I turn around and look at the weird animal thing.

It has the head of a bird. It looks like a cockatoo's head. The body of the animal looks like it belongs to a fox. I look at the tail and see a green reptiles tail. I don't know what the tail belongs to. Looking at the animal I assume it's my height.

I nervously gulp and start to slowly back away. I bump into something fluffy and turn around to see another one of the weird animals.

This one is bigger and instead of a green tail it has a red one. It sniffs me too before backing away and making weird noises like the other one did. Every time it makes a noise it stumbles back a little. The animals look like they're sneezing.

    While they continue their weird sneezing, I stand up and slowly start to walk to one of the bushes to get away. I'm stopped by another one that's bigger than the first one but smaller than the second. It bumps into me and looks down.

    I turn around and run in a different direction but three more of the smallest ones jump out of the bushes. I look around me to see that I'm surrounded.

    They look at me while making weird noises that kind of sounds like a squawking bird and a dog barking at the same time.

When I don't hear them I look up to see them sitting down staring at me. The second to biggest one squawks and they all stand up and start walking to the bushes.

    I just stand there confused until one of the smallest ones walk back out of the bushes. It squawks at me then stands there and stares.

    After a few minutes of staring it stands up and walks over to me. I immediately try to run away, but it grabs the back of my shirt and lifts me up. It goes into the bushes and starts running.

"H-Hey! Put me down!"

The animal slows down into a trot. It walks into a small clearing that's surround by trees. I hear the sound of a waterfall and look up to see a huge one. I try to pull my shirt out of its large beak when I see it heading for the water.

"No, no, no! Let me go!"

I gasp as the cold water reaches up to my chest. I close my eyes and hold my breathe before my head goes under. My lungs start to burn after awhile. My hands start randomly grasping for something to hold onto. I open my eyes and look at the waters surface. I'm not to far away from it.

I start to get closer and closer to it until I can breathe again. I take large breathes as I look around. We're in a dark cave with the only light coming from outside.

"Woah!" I exclaim as we go deeper into the cave colorful and glowing crystals cover the walls.

    I forget I'm being carried until I'm dropped onto a pile of the animals. Pushing my wet, curly, and brown hair out of my face and standing up, I quickly climb off the creatures.

    I crawl to a corner of the cave and curl into a ball. I'm to exhausted to run and I don't know if the creatures want to eat me or not. I'll just take a quick nap.
