Chapter Sixty-Eight

Start from the beginning

"Everything I have is gone, all I have now is this war." Life retires back into his arm and I tensed once more for another attack.

"No, now you have so much to gain. You could surrender, make peace with us mythicals, create a world that is good and not evil. You can make a life of your own, rule your own kingdom, live in peace," his body flinched again.

"You are not going to kill me?" I laughed at that.

"You would have been dead ten times over if I was trying to kill you." Sure I did start with the drive to kill him. Though that desire to kill just flowed out of me like water the second I realized what I stood for. "I'm here for peace." I lowered my shield.

Yes I've changed. The world that I have lived in for the past year has changed me, for better and for worse. Though there are still some morals that have remained the same from the moment I left that house.

He placed his sword into his scabbard and I placed mine in my own. He raised out a hand, "for peace," uncertainty I held out my own, my shield limp in my grasp.

"For peace."

After that, it was a whirlwind of meetings and signings and treaties. We were back at the elves castle, the peaceful green is probably the only thing keeping me going. That and one other person. Anyways, Tuathal, now known as my friend Tully, has been known to converse only with me. Which means that I had to be at every meeting, and I was dying.

I groaned, rubbing my temples, "I just want a nap," I wanted to bang my head against the wall and knock myself out. My mate looked down at me, wrapping his arm around me.

"You are doing good." He smiled and pressed a kiss to my forehead. In a second my drowsiness was gone. A new form of energy was pumping through me.

"Sheila!" Xion came running down the hall, he had returned to his normal self, it seemed that the war had just taken a toll on him. "Oh Zaivinth," he looked at Zaivinth, then back to me.

"'Oh Zaivinth'," he mocked Xion. "You say that like I'm not your oldest friend." He towered over Xion who towered over me. I smiled weakly and lightly hit his arm.

"What's going on Xion?" I wrapped my arms around my mate, resting me cheek on his arm.

"Tuathal is requesting your audience." Xion spoke and I couldn't hold back my groan. I ran a hand down my face and contained my anger, I'm not shooting the messenger.

"I decided to rest for one meeting..." I hugged Zaivinth for support and energy. "It's like the world can't function," I snuggled into his chest. All I wanted to do was spend time with my mate.

"Anyways, I expect you there in five minutes, hopefully the world doesn't go to hell before then." Xion said before retreating back down the hall.

"When this is all over, let's go back to the cave." I wanted to go back to the place that started all of this.

"Ah, but aren't you forgetting something?" I raised an eyebrow. Did I forget my sword? I put a hand on my belt and found my sword. What about my shield? I reached a hand to my back and found my shield. Sure the "war" was over. Though we cant be certain about anything with the high tension going on now.

Elves rushed past us as we walked, running to the room we were going too. I had to admire the elven way, they like getting things done, and done instantly. It's a little ironic that Xion is the face of their people. As smart as he is, he was insanely lazy, until it came to keeping everyone else in line. He liked people doing the work for him.

"What am I forgetting?" I squeezed his hand. I smiled up at him. With all the chaos lately, I haven't spent a lot of time with the joy of my life. He squeezed my hand back.

"Your coronation."

Who do you think is going to be at the coronation ceremony?

Is anything going to go wrong at the ceremony?

... just a question... how many kids? And their genders?
