"Thanks for coming"

"No worries" I answered.

I took a bite of my bagel and reached for my smoothie.

"I'll have you back in no time"

Unfortunately, that was not the case. What was supposed to be a short doctor's visit turned out being an hour visit. 

"Is everything okay?"

Her OBGYN offered an encouraging smile before nodding her head.

"Sienna is okay, but I'd like to talk with you and Chris to discuss your birth plan"

Nora turned to me as I pulled my phone out of my pocket.

"I'll be right back," I told her.

I excused myself out of the room and called Chris a handful of times only to get sent directly to voicemail. After many unsuccessful times, I called Gavin.

"You're up early"

"I'm so sorry to bother you, but which of your teammate is at Dodger Stadium and can I get their contact information?" I asked.

"Uh, yeah. I'll send you some of the guys' numbers"

As he did that, he asked.

"Is everything okay?"

I took a deep breath.

"I honestly don't know. Nora's OBGYN wants Chris here" I said.

"Well then I will leave you alone so you can do just that"

My phone chimed.

"I'll call you later" I promised.

"Talk later, bye"

"Bye

I tried the first contact, Matt Beaty. Thankfully, he answered.

"Hello"

"Hi, I am so sorry to bother you. I'm Ella, Chris' sister in law. I'm trying to get a hold of him" I stated.

"Oh, hey Ella. I literally just saw him, give me one second"

A couple of seconds later, I heard Chris' voice.

"Hello?"

"Chris, it's Ella" I stated.

"Everything okay?"

"I think so, but Nora's doctor wants you here" I said.

"Do you know why?"

"She mentioned something about having to change Nora's birth plan" I responded.

"I'll be there soon"

"Okay, drive safe" I replied before ending the call.

I made my way back.

"He's on his way" I informed both Nora and her OBGYN.

Her OBGYN nodded and stood up.

"Let's go to my office"

Nora quietly followed and once we were alone, she started crying.

"What if the umbilical cord is wrapped around her neck?"

"I'm sure that's not the case, Nori" I answered.

She sniffled.

"Ella, she's only 7 months. She's not properly developed"

"We were all premature babies" I reminded her.

She nodded as I reached for the box of tissues on the desk.

"I've felt her kick, she's a strong baby" I added as she took some tissues and wiped her nose clean.

"Chris needs to hurry up"

"Relax, he will be here soon," I told her.

Chris got here in a quick 25 minutes, still in his workout attire. 

"I can go?" I suggested.

Nora shook her head.

"No, stay"

The OBGYN turned the computer screen towards us.

"Your baby is fine"

Chris's shoulders' untensed as he reached for Nora's hand.

"The reason I asked for Chris to be here is that I want to make a change to your birth plan"

Her OBGYN sat up.

"Have you heard of Cephalo pelvic disproportion?"

Chris shook his head.

"Isn't that when a baby's head or body is too large to fit through the mother's pelvis?" I questioned.

"That's exactly what that is"

She went onto explain that Nora's pelvis was too small for a vaginal birth. 

"I'd like to induce you before your actual due date"

I knew my sister well enough to see she was damn right terrified, but she kept a brave face.

"Whatever you think is best for the baby"

Chris squeezed Nora's shoulder, and then took a hold of her hand.

"Are you still working?"

Nora nodded.

"Tomorrow's my last day"

Tomorrow was Christmas Eve.

"Okay, would you be willing to be induced either the first or second week of January"

Well, it's a good thing her Baby Shower was this weekend, and not in January like mom had wanted it to be.

"I know Spring Training is starting soon, and if you want, we can arrange for you to have your baby girl in Arizona"

Nora and Chris looked at each other.

"We don't have to schedule the c-section today. I can give you until after the holidays"

They had a little over a week to decide.

"Do you have any questions?"

For some reason, the question seemed to include me as well. I had no questions and neither did they, so we made our way out.

"Ella, can you drive Nora's car home? We can pick it up later"

Nora shook her head.

"I'm okay, you go and finish your workout"

He did not seem convinced when she nodded.

"I'm in good hands"

Was she though?

"Ella, how'd you get Matt's number?"

"Gavin" I replied.

"Right"

He looked at Nora.

"We're going to get smoothies and then go to your place," I told Chris.

"I'm a phone call away"

"Go workout," I said.

"Are you sure?"

I nodded.

"I got her" I assured him.

He looked at me.

"Do you mind chilling with her at the house? I'll take you home, later"

I smiled.

"You two are supposed to come over for dinner" I reminded him.

He sighed.

"Right"

His mind was all over the place.

"But yeah, I'll catch the ride back home with you two later on"

Nora chimed in,

"She's avoiding Theo" 

I mean, partially.
