Ella's POV- November 2019

"Looks like Gavin is here"

Dad raised an eyebrow as I groaned.

"I invited him over"

"Why would you do that?" I asked.

"I figured you'd want to see your boyfriend after 2 weeks of not seeing him"

Well, yeah but.

"I was supposed to call him back after TK left, but I forgot" I said.

He chuckled.

"You got yourself in a pickle"

Thanks, dad.

"Just be straightforward with him"

Ugh.

"I was kind of hoping to go inside, take my pain reliever and take a nap" I admitted.

Dad had to head back to work, and I'd be home alone because Theo didn't get in until much later tonight.

"I'm sure he will understand Ella, communication is key"

He smiled.

"I knew you'd be mopey, so I asked him to come"

Dad helped me unbuckle the seatbelt.

"Be nice to him"

I rolled my eyes.

"I was only mean to him once," I defended.

"And you were mean because you were in a bad mood"

True.

"He's allowed in your room, with the door closed if you'd like"

Wait, what?

"Who are you and what have you done with my father?" I wondered.

He shrugged.

"He's a good kid with good intentions, Ella"

I opened the car door.

"And I might have let it slip to him that there are cameras throughout the house"

There were cameras throughout the house, but the only person who looked at the recordings was me.

"Baseball players have a lot of stamina, but he did just work out and he did take a red-eye so he will most likely wants to nap"

I scrunched up my nose as he cackled.

"I'm going now," I said.

"Love you"

"Love you too" I replied.

I closed the car door and made my way over to Gavin's car, and gently knocked on the window. He looked away from his phone and unlocked his car door. I stepped back and smiled as he got out of the car.

"Nice car" I complimented as he closed the door.

He glanced over to dad's car who was slowly pulling out of the driveway.

"Thank you"

His head cocked to the side as his eyes scanned me from head to toe.

"How are you feeling?"

I smiled.

"Do the red eyes not give it away?" I wondered.

He stepped forward and was gentle in hugging me. The cast was gone, but I had a brace and sling on.

"It will get easier"

He laughed when he saw my unamused look.

"It will"
