POEM 94 | WHITE HOT FOREVER

I dream of a place far out in time
Where the sky meets the sun without burning the eye
And the oceans that crossed all the beaches I left for peace, in pieces
I die everyday just a little wanting tomorrow here before today ends
The birds on trees make their music
and I forgot what hope sounds like
I stopped the words,
like you moved your love out of line
Because now there's nothing to write if I'm not sad

I kick the rocks by the beach, I keep a beat
North coast breezes carry all my wishes to the bottom of the blue
The heart doesn't want to hear you now
Trying to catch all I want but I never catch the time

I live in a picture of a white hot forever
Forever, forever
My color runs and runs and runs
It's always hot here, white hot forever
And I come undone

The blues come in corner bars, drunken stars and the sky when I'm alone
Catching butterflies, catching daylight, running out of time
I thought this movie would play a different scene
You used to say I look prettiest when I cry
So I cried diamonds into rivers and and tides

I put your poetry by my bed, I whisper their names before
I drift into the unknown
But I never dream, I know life too well
To ever expect that it could workout for me

I live in a picture of a white hot forever
Forever, forever
My color runs and runs and runs
It's always hot here, white hot forever
And I come undone

I should leave, I should leave
But there's no road paved for me
I just wanna die (la la la la)
I just wanna die (la la la la)
I just wanna ride (with you)
I just wanna ride (no rules)

I can't make the music
I can't make the words
If I carry happiness
So I write
All my melodies, melodies
And my symphonies, symphonies
in a burning gloom
Because all my flowers bloom
without their sun
and I come undone.
