I walked the corridors of my new school, trying to find the principals office without having to write "NEWBIE" all over my forehead, but after wondering aimlessly for half an hour, I seriously considered that option until  I saw a tall man wearing a suit and glasses heading down the corridor.
I doubt a student would show up in school wearing a suit, so I followed the supposed teacher to the teacher's room, which happened to be right across from the principals office. Ha, why didn't I think of that?
I knocked gently before entering. His secretary gave me a few forms to fill out, concerning my personal information such as name, background and family.
Name- Eli Frost.
Description- I'm eighteen years old. I'm tall and thin. Black hair, blue eyes, pale skin. AKA vampire. I have a birth mark shaped as a star on my right upper arm. How cool is that?
Family/ siblings- I have four older brothers. Dad's a doctor, Mom's got enough on her hands dealing with all of us.
Hobbies- drinking coffee. Constantly. 24/7.
Sleeping ( when I don't drink coffee)
Playing the guitar and singing way off key.
Prank wars with my brothers.
Major- Ancient languages. I just love talking, so I figured- why just talk in one language?
Grades- all between 80-100. I'm a good student, even though my teachers may disagree.
I finished filling the form and handed it to the secretary. She smiled, giving me back a piece of paper with my schedule and list of classes.
I thanked her and headed to my first class, which was history.
I knocked gently on the door before entering, catching everyone's attention.
"Oh, hi" I smiled sheepishly, closing the door behind me.
"I got a note from Principal franklin" I handed my teacher the note- he was the same dude wearing glasses and a suit I saw before.
He takes the note and inspects it wearily. While he does so, I look around the room at my future classmates, who are all staring at me. I smile and turn back to dude with a suit.
Dude with a suit finally smiles and hands me back the note. "Welcome to our class, Eli Frost. You may address me as Mr. Lee. Have a seat next to Jack over there"  he gestured at a tall boy with Raven black hair who smiled at me warmly.
I smiled back and made my way toward him.
I passed a mean looking red head dude, who's eyes were seizing my figure , and kept staring at my behind as I passed.
I internally groaned. He better not try anything stupid, unless he wants to feel my wrath.
I sat next to Raven boy . "Hi there, stranger" I grinned.
He grinned back "Name's Jack".
"Nice to meet ya, Jack".
We turned our attention back to Mr. Lee, who was teaching something about something that happened in ancient Greece. Honestly, I wasn't really paying attention. I was too preoccupied thinking if I made a good first impression.
I was so deep in thought, I didn't realize Mr. Lee was calling me, until Jack gently elbowed me in the ribs.
"What? Oh, sorry" I apologized sheepishly. Mr. Lee gave me a disapproving look.
"Miss Frost, since you've been paying attention so well, can you identify the language I wrote on the board?"
I stared at the board, ignoring the giggles and snorts from my fellow classmates.
Oh are they going to be sorry they laughed at me.
"It's ancient Latin" I said , scanning the script. " Ohh, and it's a pancake recipe, and a disgusting one at that.
Three cups flour, one cup grained oats, teaspoon salt, two tablespoons sugar- I mean common, who puts only two Tablespoons sugar in their pancakes? That's nuts! No wonder those ancient Greeks were crazy!
One cup wine- ha, no wonder they came up with such a bad recipe- they were drunk half of the time, the other half they ate bad pancakes.
Assemble all these ingredients together, find a oven and stick it in there" I continued translating, while Raven boy next to me was trying very hard to control his laughter.
"Once it's done, eat it, or whack it into the face of the person closest to you".
By now the whole class was laughing, even Mr. Lee cracked a smile.
"And don't forget to sacrifice a portion to the gods. Why would they want such flavorless  pancakes is beyond me".
Mr Lee smiled. "You may think this is funny class, but Eli actually translated this text correctly. In fact, I've never seen someone so fluent in ancient Latin. Well done, miss Frost".
Jack stared at me in awe.
"That's pretty cool" he said.
I smiled at him. "Thanks, Raven boy. Wait until you hear me speaking  Samaritan. I sound so freaken' cool".
He laughed. I started to like this guy. He had a nice laugh.
The class went on, until the blessed bell rang. Everyone got up and collected there bags, myself included.
Jack watched me nervously as I collected my stuff. "I had a really fun time, Eli. Thanks" he said, looking a little awkward.
I stared at him, then grinned widely. "No prob, Raven boy. Anytime".
He raised a brow at my nickname. Poor Guy. He has NO IDEA what he gotten himself into.
Fun fact about myself- when I get a nickname inside my head, there is NO WAY getting it outa' there.
"See ya later, Raven Boy" I said walking out, leaving behind a very confused Jack.
Finally , the savior bell rang. Symbolizing the end of the day. I exited the building and
sat on the edge of the stairs, waiting for the bus. My fingers itched for a cup of coffee.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a sweet little kid with glasses making his way toward a yellow and black race car- probably his ride . But before he even reached the side walk, a mean looking group of kids started ganging up on him, with the ugly faced red head from history class at the lead.
I clenched my hands into fists as they circled him, yelling insults and laughing. I quickly got up and walked toward him.
"What's wrong, punk? Can't see nothing without your glasses?" The leader with the ugly face teased the little boy.
"What the heck is wrong with you?" I snapped at him, pushing two of his friends out of the way as I knelt in front of the sweet boy, who was on the floor, trying his best to keep a brave face and not cry.
Anger swelled inside my chest.
I picked up his glasses that fell on the floor and  very gently placed them back on his nose. Our eyes locked in the process.
"You alright?" I asked softly.
He nodded, giving me a small smile.
I got up and turned to face Vince , who was eyeing me carefully.
"You should pick your friends more wisely, newbie" he taunted, his friends snickering behind him.
I narrowed my eyes at him. I despised violence , but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.
I turned back to Vince.
"You're right" I said sweetly, fluttering my lashes.
Vince seemed confused, but kept his cool, thinking probably I was flirting, until I forcefully grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled until we were eye level.
"Listen, Francis" I growled.
"It's Vincent" he said wearily.
"That's what I said" I hissed.
"If you touch, or laugh, or say ANYTHING insulting to that boy again, I will RIP YOUR TONGUE out of your throat and WHACK YOUR HEAD with it until it snaps off your little skinny chicken neck. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" I roared.
Vince jerked back, falling on his behind. I turned back toward little guy, ignoring the flabbergasted faces of Vince and his friends.
"Hello again, my dear fella" I said in a serious tone. Little guy chuckles. I grinned with satisfaction.
"Do you need a hand, old friend?" I continued in my serious demeanor, offering him a hand.
He took my hand with a smile as I helped him up.
"Thanks" he said.
"No prob, Bob" I winked. "If you want, I can teach ya how to land a serious kick, with a bonus of a few extremely creative threats".
He actually laughed, which made me feel so good. Damn , this was a really sweet kid.
"I'd...I'd really like that" he said, adjusting his glasses.
I grinned "I'm Eli, by the way".
His smile reached his eyes. "Raf".
We shook hands. I was about to say something else but was interrupted by a horn honking from the yellow car.
"I think your ride is waitin for ya" I said, nodding toward yellow over there.
"Oh! Yeah! Thanks! Nice to meet you Eli! See you tomorrow!"
With that, he sprinted off toward yellow.
I watched him as he disappeared into the car and drove off, waving at me before the window closed.
The bus pulled into the school driveway. I shook myself and headed off.

Raf was smiling all the way into base. He kept smiling as he climbed the stairs to the small yellow couch and opened his laptop.
"What you smiling about, Raf?" Miko asked, coming to sit next to him.
Raf didn't realize he still had a smile plastered on his face.
"I met a really funny girl today" he said, smiling at the memory.
"Oooohhh.." Miko cooed.
"Somebody got a crush"
"No no, it's nothing like that!" Raf exclaimed in slight panic as he noticed all the other humans and bots staring at him. "She's a senior, Miko".
"Oh, you talking about Eli?" Jack inquired.
Raf nodded. "She threatened Vince that if he bullies me one more time she'll rip off his tongue and whack him in the head with it" he started giggling.
Bumblebee beeped.
"Yeah- that was the girl helping me when you came to pick me up" Raf answered.
Arcee chuckled. "He must've been terrified, after a threat like that".
Raf was laughing. "You should've seen his face".
"She seems pretty cool" Jack added, then started laughing as well. "She sat next to me in history, and she started translating a text in Latin" jack chuckled. " I don't think I ever found history so funny".
Miko giggled. "I wanna meet her!"
Optimus was listening with half an audio to the kids conversation. He was intrigued by this human, who seemed to have strong morals and opinions, not to mention highly creative threats and a unique sense of humor.
He hoped to one day meet this humorous human, but he knew it was impossible. They were robots in disguise, after all.
He sighed. Being a robot was not easy. Being a PRIME robot was no slouch ever.
In other words- he had the worst of it all.
He had no idea that he would end up meeting this human sooner than he thought, or that he will become her guardian, her friend, and her adoptive father.
