"I remember that moment where David Massey reached out. He wanted to sign both Nick and Muse." Denise Jonas reveals

"Carole Jonas was an interesting one. She could give you a better performance than any singers, nowadays, but she didn't have any social skills. When you started paying attention to her, you'd notice small things. Such as how calm and quiet she tended to be with everyone. The only way she really communicated was through music." Massey explains

Kevin sighs "Muse started being more introverted than all of us and we all sort of started to get worried..."

"but since all of her brothers, were these loud, extroverted and hyper kids. We just sort of assumed she was just highly shy and anxious, more of an introvert." Senior describes her personality

"I remember asking her if she would be interested in making her own music." David Massey chuckles "She looked at me and squinted. She then stared at me silently and tilted her head to the side and said"

"No. I wanna be just like Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawkins." Nick smiles "She loves music but she really loved doing schoolwork and knowledge. I also think she was scared of the unknown and this meant changing her routine. Which is something people like her tend to avoid. She was only two or three years old at the time."

"Kevin and I started to feel like, wow, like, Nick's actually doing it. Muse's is getting some kind of a recognition but I guess due to how old she was, she just couldn't care less about it. We started to kind of write on our own." Joe explains

"And me Joe and Nick were in our little room," Kevin describes the start of the band

"and we played guitar together just for fun." Joe synthesis'

"And we're playing around, it goes-" Kevin strums on his guitar

"They come and go
But they don't know
That you are my beautiful" a young Nick and Joe sing as Kevin is accompanying them on his acoustic guitar

"We wrote a song called 'Please Be Mine.'" Nick announces

"I'll be there forever" the younger JoBros harmonize

"The song just, like, literally wrote itself in 10 minutes." Kevin remembers

"Our hopes and our dreams-"

"I think that was the moment we all looked at each other and were like, 'This could be something.'" Joe smiles, remembering the exact moment

All brothers are smiling and looking at a fixed point away from the camera to the side, the camera then zooms out of the boys and turns to show a young Muse dancing in her own world to the music her brothers are making. Their little sister and number one fan...

"Very few feelings in my life as sure... as that." Nick acknowledges

"For you
Till the end
The end of time
Please be mine" all the brothers harmonize together at the end

"And then Nick wanted me to meet his brothers." David Massey, the Sony representative, states "They came into the office, they told me they had written a song called 'Please Be Mine', and they stood in a semi-circle, I'll never forget it, and sang me this great song, and I was blown away by their chemistry together as brothers. I may have lost one Jonas but I added the other two brothers to the mix and the Jonas Brothers was born."

"I was in high school at this point-" Kevin contextualizes "...and I was so excited. But I wasn't allowed to tell anyone that we were signed, because my dad was the pastor of a church."

"Doubt in yourself and doubt in your god will keep you from your destiny." Senior preached and the applauded

"We didn't tell anyone at the church at the time, 'cause we didn't want my dad to lose his job potentially. We were signed to a secular label, and we weren't making a Christian album." Kevin further points out

"We lived two doors down from the church. And we were there pretty much every day. It was a humongous part of our life." Nick adds

"The community we lived in, in Wyckoff, it was amazing. Always friendly. And we were so happy to be there." Denise Jonas details

"'cause all of our friends were the kids that went to this church, and they were a part of the family. The way we saw it was our dad went on stage every Sunday, and it was like this big thing." Joe describes as an old video of Senior in front of a congregation that are standing on their feet and applauding Kevin Senior

"There were people in the church all the time, people that really needed that place. You could feel they expected a lot of my dad. Being the pastor's family, you're kind of a first family in a sense of the church. There was a lot of responsibility on us... and also a lot of eyeballs." Nick accepts

"There's a pressure to be the example. Everything should always look like we're this perfect family, and nothing's ever wrong. As a kid, it was hard to understand that, like, there's no way that doesn't affect the family." Joe illustrates

"The problem with that is if you felt like something wasn't right or if there was issues, you end up internalizing quite a lot of stuff. I remember hating that environment, because I never felt like I could be my own person. I didn't feel as if I was allowed to struggle and I think that's why many people can have issues and disorders that are only diagnosed and established years later, after the fact..." Muse clarifies "It was toxic."
