Chapter 7 - I'll Misbehave If It Turns You On

"I never thought I'd live to see the day where Han Jisung looked happy to be going to calculus at 9 am," Felix said with his brows furrowed after waking up to his roommate jamming to Day6 while getting ready.

"Can't wait to get educated. Live, love, breathe math," Jisung sang sarcastically.

"I'm sure you do, buddy," Felix sighed before he began to prepare for the day.

Jisung still hadn't told his roommate that the reason he was so excited to go to class was that he was crushing hard on their professor. As much as he wanted to tell the Aussie, he was admittedly afraid that he would react negatively and didn't want to risk souring their young friendship.

Jisung could barely believe he had already survived his first week of university. The workload and change of pace were taking a while to get used to, but he found the transition from high school to post-secondary wasn't as bad as he had expected. Although, there certainly was plenty of time for things to go downhill from there.

The campus was alive with student life. Fold-out tables had been set up along the main walkway from the residence buildings where various clubs were advertising themselves. There was a club for practically everything-- softball, violin, politics, mathletes, even an anime club. The two boys looked at the different clubs while they made their way to class.

They took a seat in their regular spot and chatted while they waited for class to begin. To Jisung's surprise, attendance was pretty good for this particular class. For his other courses, he had noticed a decrease in students actually attending following the first couple of lectures.

Minho walked in exactly on time as he always did and stated the topic for the day. He turned to the whiteboard and began to write. Jisung couldn't help but admire his broad shoulders as he wrote down the topic along with some equations.

"Check out Professor Lee's arms," a girl with a short blonde bob haircut that was sitting in front of Jisung mumbled to her friend.

"Oh my god, you're crazy," her friend giggled back. "But honestly, ten out of ten would smash."

Jisung felt his cheeks heating up at their words. He felt a mixture of emotions. Firstly, he couldn't help but be pissed off about how they were opening sexualizing Minho. Perhaps he had thought of Minho in that way in his own head, but that was different than saying inappropriate things about him while he was around to hear it. Secondly, he felt like his chances with Minho were dwindling away as the days went on. It seemed like everyone had a crush on the guy, how could Jisung stand a chance against all these people?

He needed to put himself a step of everyone else. And what better way to accomplish that goal than to make himself more memorable to the young professor? Jisung raised his hand. It took a few seconds for the boy at the front of the room to notice, but once he did, you could physically see his throat move as he swallowed.

"Yes?" Minho called out to the brunette.

"Hi, Professor Lee. I just wanted to say you're doing great and to keep up the good work," Jisung beamed as he leaned back in his chair and gave two thumbs up.

A few people laughed while others whispered in confusion about what the boy had said. Jisung didn't care what other people were thinking or saying, he was simply elated to see he had gotten a reaction out of Minho, who crossed his arms and glared at the brunette.

"Um... Thanks for your feedback. Now, back to what I was saying-"

"I also wanted to publicly thank you for the extra help you gave me after class. You're a great teacher."

"Jisung, what are you going on about?" Felix said nervously as he nudged his roommate.

"Are you done interrupting the class, or do you have more to say?" Minho said with a glare on his face.

A choir of ooh's could be heard in the lecture hall following the black-haired boy's harsh statement. Jisung wasn't even upset by the professor's words, this was exactly what he wanted- to get noticed.

"Oh, you think I'm finished? I could keep going all day," Jisung said with a large grin on his face. "I love your lessons."

"Fine," Minho snapped, clenching his jaw and pacing across the front stage of the lecture hall. "Then how about you meet me after this lecture and we can have a lesson on how not to be a jackass in class. Deal?"

The class went silent. Despite being rather cold and emotionless during class, Minho had always been very calm. The room of students were shaken by the fact that he lost his temper and even swore in front of them.

"Deal," Jisung smirked.

Minho opened the door for Jisung and shut it behind him once they were both in his office. The boy had been visibly pissed off for the rest of the lecture, pacing across the floor as he spoke and snapping at people who were chatting during class.

Jisung was slightly concerned that he may have taken it too far. His goal was to simply tease his professor so he could stand out from the crowd and maybe put others in their place, but he hadn't expected Minho to get so upset about it.

"So, care to tell me what that was all about?" Minho asked, leaning back against his desk and rubbing his temples with his hands from the stress.

Jisung took a seat across from Minho's desk, this time sitting on it like a normal person. He had to admit, he felt a bit guilty about possibly embarrassing his professor in front of the large class.

"I was just trying to show my appreciation for you."

"Don't play dumb, we both know what you're trying to accomplish," Minho said before he exhaled loudly. Jisung's heartbeat began to steadily increase. "And I'm telling you now, nothing's happening."

"But why not?" Jisung pouted.

"Because I'm your professor and you're my student. Do you have any idea how fucked up that is?"

"Is it really that weird though? I mean, you're pretty young so it wouldn't be creepy. You're still a student yourself," Jisung argued like he was a salesman trying to make a pitch.

Minho bit his lip and stared off into space, deep in thought. Jisung could feel his heart racing while he looked at the older with anticipation. He felt as if the situation between them had reached the point where it could go either way- Minho could shut it down before it went any further, or he could potentially have feelings for the younger as well. Unlucky for Jisung, the boy was incredibly hard to read.

"Could you at least tell me how you feel?" Jisung pleaded. "Either I'm crazy or there really is something going on between us. Tell me, do you feel it too?"

"We barely even know each other. We're practically strangers," Minho said. He paused for a moment, "You're not crazy... but it's a bad idea. We'd be playing with fire."

"Everyone starts out as strangers," Jisung said with his eyes wide.

"I think you need to leave. We can't have this conversation right now. Especially not here."

Jisung felt his heart sink in defeat. Just knowing that Minho had at least some sort of feelings for him as well but refused to act on them made it all the more painful. The brunette simply nodded and he rose to his feet, heading towards the door. If him leaving was what Minho wanted, then he decided that was what he needed to do.

"Jisung, wait," Minho said, causing the younger to freeze and face him.  A serious, glare-like expression was still on his face. "Fine. If you want to talk about it, meet me outside the bar tonight at ten. We'll talk."
