Nagising si Rein sa tunog ng cellphone. Pahinamad na bumangon siya sa kama at hinanap kung saan nakalagay ang tumutunog na aparatu na pumukaw sa tulog niya.
Nakita niya iyon sa ibabaw ng tokador. She was still half asleep at hindi napansing hindi sa kanya ang cellphone na iyon. It had the same ringtone with hers. She answered the call without looking at the screen. All she ever wanted was to answer the phone so it will stop ringing and so she can go back to sleep. She was still half asleep.
She pressed the answer button and unknowingly placed the phone in her ears, her eyes closed. And she heard a sweet voice from the other line that definitely of a woman.
“Hi, Sweetie,” came the ecstatic, female voice. “I’m coming over for a visit. Actually, nasa elevator na ako so see you!”
Nanlamig si Rein sa narinig. Ang kanyang antok ay biglang lumipad nang mag-sink in sa kanyang utak ang purpose ng tawag na iyon. Hindi siya nakapagsalita, though the woman on the other line already hung up. And she was already coming over.
Oh shit! She snapped in disbelief. Lumipad ang kanyang paningin kay Troy, he was sleeping peacefully on the bed, still naked. Malapit na siya sa harapan ng elevator nang bumukas iyon at iniluwa ang isang mestisang babaeng kapansin-pansin ang ganda. Animo ay isang modelo ito kung maglakad, may poise at may magandang bearing. Biglang may bumundol sa dibdib ni Rein at napagkit ang paningin niya sa magandang babae. Hinabol pa niya ito nang tingin nang lumagpas sa kanya. Tumigil ito sa harapan ng unit ni Troy at mula sa bag ay may kinuhang susi at binuksan ang pintuan at pumasok ito sa loob. Nakasara na ang dahon ng pinto ngunit nakamata pa rin siya sa condo unit ng lalaki.

Goodbye Troy… She whispered silently in the air. Alam niyang isang malaking pagkakamali ang nagawa niya ngunit hindi niya hahayaang malugmok nang tuluyan ang sarili sa kahihiyan. Tama na ang isang gabi ng kapusukan.
The man who aroused her interest for the first was apparently a player and she just had added her name to his long list of flings. Masakit man pero kailangan niyang kalimutang ang bahaging ito ng buhay niya. She knew she slipped, maybe not intentional, but she had to gather her broken self together and start a new life. And this was a hard lesson for her.
She put a period to her momentary insanity on that very moment.
She will forget Troy. She will force herself if she needed to.
She will move on. She had to. She needed to.
