"Nah, my parents are out of town again so it's just gonna be me and the kitties all weekend long," Sam shrugged.
"Dinner with the new neighbors actually, my aunt invited them. They came all the way from Australia," I smirked slyly and Mercy's eyes widened. I already knew what she was thinking.
"I wonder if there are any hot Australians in your future, my dear," She raised an eyebrow as she peeked at me from behind her locker door.
I shook my head, trying hard not to giggle at her. Sam laughed at Mercy's antics while I just looked away and pretended to be busy in my locker. Mercy was like the mom in our group. She always looked around, trying to play matchmaker with us. Sometimes it was fun and turned out okay. Others, not so much. We had to give her credit though, she tried really hard.
"Okay, you can keep daydreaming and I'm gonna head to class. I'll see you bitches at lunch," I said, turning and heading down the hallway.
I glanced at my phone, there was still about 10 minutes left until the first bell rang. I leaned against a set of lockers across from my first period and flipped through a few of my papers. I was looking for my sheet music. It had been a little while since I had the inspiration for a new song, things in my head hadn't exactly been where I wanted them to lately. The new song was going to be amazing, I just knew it.
I smiled, satisfied with the lyrics. I took a few steps towards my classroom as I was trying to slip the sheet back into my music binder. As I lifted my head up to keep walking, someone slammed into me and I went tumbling to the floor. The hallway was mostly empty already so I knew there weren't too many people who had seen what happened.
My temple throbbed from impact. I opened my eyes slowly as the last of the paper tornado settled to the ground, my vision was still a little blurred. I blinked a few times, hoping the blurriness would ease away quickly. My ears were ringing slightly but I could still hear someone mumbling an apology behind me. He scrambled around, gathering the scattered papers and trying to get my attention. My head still felt pretty far away. The last thing I remember was laying flat against the cold floor as his face came into view. Then everything went dark.

A blinding light made it impossible for me to open my eyes. As my eyes adjusted, I realized I was sprawled out on a bed in the Nurse's office, drool sticking to my cheek. I attempted to sit up but quickly regretted it as my head began to throb. I winced, a small groan escaping my lips. I heard a gasp beside me and my eyes widened. Suddenly I heard a chair scrape the floor and footsteps echoed out in the room.
"Don't try to sit up, you hit your head pretty hard." A husky voice said, my vision still too blurry to make out who it was.
"W..what happened?" I grumbled, swiping a hand across my mouth as my eyes began to focus.
The first thing that caught my attention were his eyes. The blue and green mixed together perfectly, a replica of beautiful sea foam. Concern swam through his eyes as he furrowed his eyebrows nervously. I chuckled to myself and he shot me a look of surprise. Using a hand to steady myself, I finally managed to sit up. My head was still throbbing but the pain was bearable. I heard him suck in a sharp breath as my hand slipped a little and I almost fell off the bed.
"Don't worry, I've got a thick skull," I said, lightly tapping my knuckle on my forehead, causing me to wince again.
"I am so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going and I was in a hurry," He spit his apology rather quickly and I tried to raise an eyebrow at him.
"Wait, you're the one who ran into me?" I asked, studying him a little more. He was sweating, causing his golden blond hair to stick to his forehead. I fought the urge to reach up and brush it away.
