After two more days of driving you and the wraiths arrive at a big city. There are soaring skyscrapers and huge mansions. As you pass by a small park in one of the urban areas Mimi grabs your arm in excitement and starts jumping in her seat. Since you fainted the wraiths had decided that it wasn't necessary to keep you tied up in the van anymore and that as long as someone was watching Mimi could sit with you.
"(Fn)! Doesn't that look fun? Can (fn) take Mimi there and play?" Mimi asks you giving her huge puppy dog eyes.
"Ha ha ha!" A laughter from the front of the van interrupts you before you can even give an answer. "What's this Mimi? You want to take your pet out for a walk?" It's Marel. She's laughing as Michael gives a sneer at you.
"(Fn)'s not a dog! She's a human!" Mimi says crossing her arms and frowning. "Humans don't need to go on walks."
You feel a slight stab at being called a pet by Marel, and a deeper one at Mimi not really denying it. "She's not a pet." Toms' voice from the driver seat at the front carries back catching your attention. "If someone goes with you to watch then yes Mimi, she can take you outside, but you're not going in the city. There's too many people here."
"But Mimi wants to play on the swing." Mimi says whining and making butterfly eyes at Tom. She tries to catch his gaze in the rear view mirror but fails. "Besides, were else can (Fn) take Mimi?"
Tom doesn't answer, but instead turns down a road that takes the van out to the edge of the town. After going through some empty streets they finally stop at a huge house with a forested place near it. After stopping the van the dark male growls at everyone to get out. "We'll stay here for about two weeks so you can settle in this time."
Not a second after Tom finishes speaking Mimi grabs your hand and drags you through the front door. "Come on (Fn)! Let's go explore!" The little girl giggles as you get pulled behind her. Mimi forces you to follow her into every room of the spacious place never once loosing any enthusiasm as she does so. She drags you everywhere and looking at everything like its Christmas.
"(Fn)! Look at how big it is!" Mimi screams joyfully as she drags you back into the main sitting room where the rest of the wraiths were. "Listen! There's even an echo! Echoooooooo!"
"Geez, would you learn to grow up?" Marel's voice screeches from one of the chairs she's sitting in. "And kid, why are we even staying in this place?" Marel's last comment is directed at Tom.
"We still have at least a month and a half of waiting so deal with it." Tom says from where he's standing reading a notebook. "And calm down. Just eat something if you're in such a bad mood."
"And where do we do that? You've got us in a house outside of the city." Clare cuts in, her face showing complete annoyance. She crosses her arms sitting on the couch with Hank.
"Everyone let's just calm down." The professor says walking in the room behind you. "We're only acting like this because we haven't eaten in at least a week."
"Then how come Mimi isn't hungry?" Micheal asks. He has his usual smug look on his face as he challenges the professor.
"Mimi hasn't developed the bad habits of her older caretakers who's own fault it is why they can't go for more then a week without eating." The professor answers, his smile showing a hint of frustration.
Mimi starts grabbing your arm and pulling you. "Come on (Fn)! Let's go play!" You follow behind gratefully since the atmosphere in the room with the adult wraiths is getting too tense. You can tell that an argument is going to start up.
"Mimi." Tom's voice makes you and Mimi freeze. "Get yours and her room cleaned and ready. Then you can play."
"Yes big bro." Mimi says and quickly drags you away to the upstairs. Once you get to the top Mimi slumps against a wall and slides down. "That was close. Even big bro is acting mad."
