"I thought you said she was fine, that she was just asleep." You hear a slightly angry voice say as you start to wake up. Your eyes are closed and there's a pounding in your head but you can hear at least two people in the room with you. "She's been out for three days."
"That was before Clare told me that the poor girl hasn't slept since we took her. She must have been exhausted." A strangely British sounding voice says. "I still say she's lucky to be alive considering what happened."
"That still doesn't give her the right to play damn sleeping beauty!" The first voice, which you recognize as the dark haired man's, spits back. "And to make things worse, the others are starting to get suspicious now."
You don't really know what they're talking about, but you can tell that it's something do with you. As the voices keep arguing you manage to open your eyes and see that the sun's out. From the look of it, it must be early morning. You bring your hand up to rub your eyes but stop. Since when did you wear gloves in bed?
"Ah, good morning miss." The British voice says and you look up to see the professor. He's sitting in a chair beside your bed with a book in his hand. He has a kind smile on his face and looks like he's about to ask you if you want some tea and scones. "How are you feeling?"
Your eyes shift from the kind professor up to see the dark haired man from before. He's leaning against the wall beside the door glaring at you. His arms are crossed over his chest and his mouth is in a scowl. "What? Did you go mute or something girl?"
"N-no, just, what happened?" You ask, not able to remember how you got to the bed. The last thing you can clearly remember is Mimi saying good night. "Did I pass out?"
"You hadn't eaten in three days so you overexcited yourself with Mimi. It's our fault." The professor answers with a chuckle. "We forgot that humans like you need to eat so often. It won't happen again. In fact, you must be famished. Here." He holds out a plate with biscuits on it to you. "Eat up. You've been asleep for three days."
"Thank you." You say taking the plate. Why are they being so nice to you? You look down at the biscuits, not sure if you should really eat them. What if they're poisoned? But, if their goal was to kill you originally, why wait until you woke up?
"Oh for crying out loud." The dark man mutters walking over to you as you internally debate eating the food. Before you even notice he grabs a biscuit and shoves it in your mouth. "Just eat it, or do you want to pass out again?"
This guy, what is his problem? First he almost kills you, then he kidnaps you and now he's forcing you to eat? What right does he have to force feed you now like a toddler? You slap his gloved hand away and take the biscuit out of your mouth. "Are you trying to choke me? I can feed myself you know." You say having had enough of his attitude.
"Really? Cause you looked like you were staring at the plate like a clueless baby." He growls back clenching the hand you slapped away. His glare is almost murderous.
"Maybe I don't like eating in front of other people. After all I live alone, it's not like I eat in front of weird guys all the time." You snap back. This guy, always acting so intimidating. Just like when you bumped into him in the hallway, he uses intimidation to have authority over others.
"Weird's a bit of a strong word, don't you think?" The professor says laughing nervously and interrupting the argument. "We just want to make sure that you actually eat something. We're concerned that you might get sick if you don't eat."
Concerned? The dark man doesn't seem that concerned about something like that with you. He just looks irritated.
"Tch, just listen to prof, you snotty brat." The dark man says putting his gloved hands into his jacket pockets and walking out the door. "You've already held us up for too long." With that he slams the door shut leaving.
