Friend-Ships
A sunken ship, is a hateful beast.
It only dreams of making a feast
of any ship it sees above
sailing steadfast and spreading Love.
It'll send a beacon with a plea
to save it from the stormy sea;
and if you answer, it sucks you down—
then laughs as you convulse an' drown.
But faithful ships will sail through
those dark and troubled storms with you—
for they are ships that Love designed
to be the friends of humankind.
