It's raining outside. Of course it is. The day I decide to be social and get out of my house, it rains. Sigh. This is why I don't go out. I looked away from the window and back to my phone. I clicked the volume button up about 5 times to drown out the sound of the water splashing outside. It doesn't help much though, since I made sure to keep one headphone out of my ear. I use to not do this. I use to just let myself drown in music and not care about anything else in the world. But I learned that it's always important to stay alert at all times. But that's a different story for a different day. I sighed with just the thought of the memory.

I grabbed my cup from the table and took a sip, wincing a little because it was still hot. Sitting in the cafe, I start to think of possible ways I can get home without being soaked in the end. Taxi? No.... Uber? Too broke.. Call a friend? Pfft. What friend? I sighed again.

"Must be a bad day for you?" I heard a voice come from behind me. Removing the one headphone in my ear, I turned around to be met by a handsome face. He sat at the table behind me, with a book in his hands. He wore a white hoodie that went over his dark brown hair. My eyes examined him well, but I immediately stopped as I didn't want to come off weird.

"Pardon?" I asked, already forgetting what he said.

"You we're sighing a lot, so I figured you must have been upset or something." This stranger said with a chuckle.

"Oh, I'm sorry, did I bother you?" I asked, feeling embarrased. Was I really that loud?

"No, not at all," He reassured with a gentle smile. "Just wanted to make sure you were okay."

Maybe it was his contagious smile, or it could have been his caring words, but I found myself smiling with a warm heart.

"Thank you. Well my day is alright, not the best though.  Just got a lot of thoughts, that's all," I answered his question. "The weather isn't helping either." Why I was telling him this, I didn't know. But I felt proud of myself for being able to hold a normal conversation with this beautiful stranger. I guess socializing isn't that hard after all.

"Ah, I see. Not a fan of rain?" He asked.

"No. Not at all. Are you?" I asked back, wanting to stretch out the conversation.

"Actually, I am. I love the rain. I don't know why.... I just find it calming and beautiful. " He answered. As he spoke I took the time to examine his features further. He had dark brown eyes that were so pretty. They managed to help me maintain eye contact throughout the conversation. He had full lips and fair skin. I concluded that I've never seen anyone as handsome as he was. He stopped talking and silence filled the air between us. It was at this time where i began to feel awkward, which I realize I hadn't felt when we were talking. What do I say to that? Should I just turn around again? No, that'd be rude. Ugh, think! "Well, I hope you clear your head of those thoughts." This man says to kill the silence. Thank God. He sounded so genuine, as if he really did want me to stop thinking too much.

"Thank you." I replied with a smile. Slowly, I turned back around, facing my table. Even though I knew he was still sitting behind me, I did not feel awkward at all.

I picked up my phone, but this time I did not wear my headphones. Just incase he says something again. I was playing a game for about 5 minutes when suddenly am item was placed infront of me, on my table. I put my phone down and saw that it was an umbrella. I turned to my side and found that the man that was sitting  behind me was the one who placed that there. I looked at him with confusion.

"Um, I saw that you didn't have one, so you can use mine." He said, his eyes looking everywhere but at mine. I notice that he was fidgeting with the sleeve of his hoodie. Why was he so nervous?

"Oh, no it's alright, you can use it for yourself." I said, picking up the umbrella and held it out to him. He only put his hand on the object and gently pushed it to me.

"I insist. Your sweater doesn't even have a hood, but mine does." He said, trying to convince me.

"No really it's fine-"

"Would you rather wear my hoodie then?" He cut me off, finally looking into my eyes. This guy really won't let me go. I smiled, defeated. I gripped the umbrella and put it down on the table.

"I'll take the umbrella then. Thank you." I said, but I really wouldn't have minded taking the hoodie either.

"Alright," He said, smiling that beautiful smile. "Hope your day gets better then." With that the man turns back and exits the cafe. Hope my day gets better? It already has. My eyes never left him until he was too far to be seen. Who is that guy? I thought. Why would he give me this without even knowing me? I don't even know his name. Must be an angel sent from the heavens. That would probably explain why he's so handsome. I silently laughed at my own humor. I stared at the folded umbrella on the table infront of me. But really though.... Who are you?
