It was supposed to be just a quick visit to the Shrine of Power in Akkala, but fate had different plans. From the treeline, a shimmer of gold could be seen. Stalking, lurking… hunting. No one seemed to notice the lynel watching from the woods. No one but Link. He had been tense since the group arrived that morning, feeling as if they were being watched, but no one took him seriously. Throughout the day Link tried to shake the feeling, but even now as the sun was setting, his mind was still very little at ease.
It was with a heavy sigh and an even heavier heart that Zelda decided it was time to head back towards the castle. She had been trying and trying all day, but nothing seemed to work. Her sealing power just wasnt there.. "I'm sure you'll figure it out soon enough." Came Urbosa's soothing voice from behind. "But for now, let's get you home. It's getting late, and Ganon doesn't care how tired you are. Best be on our way for now." Zelda only nodded as she cast her gaze to the ground. Link sighed in relief as they were finally leaving the area, pulling himself away from the column he had been leaning on. "Don't tell me you're actually tired." Came Revali's voice from behind him. Link didnt think anyone had heard him, but as long as it was just Revali it was fine, he supposed. "Not tired.." Link managed to mumble out softly, catching Revali by surprise. "I.. I s-saw a…" Link sighed and gave up trying to speak, raising his hands to pick up the slack. 'I saw something moving in the woods earlier.. been keeping an eye on it.' Was all Link signed before casting his gaze back out to the woods in question. Something was definitely out there, Link could feel it.
"If it has you on edge like this, I wouldnt doubt that something is out there. But, it could also just be an animal. Regardless, we're heading out now, so I wouldnt worry yourself with it any longer." Link only shrugged in response as he walked out behind Zelda with the rest of the Champions.
They didnt get far before the feeling of being watched came back, stronger this time. Revali noticed from the corner of his eye as Link started to visibly tense again. "Relax." Revali spoke so that only Link could hear, making sure any unnecessary attention wasnt being drawn towards said Hylian. Link was going to say something, but a rustling in the forest had grabbed the attention of the six travelers. "What was that?" Zelda asked in a slight panic. Link was already standing in front of her, sword drawn and body poised for a fight. From the forest, five sets of glowing green eyes emerged. A band of golden Lynels had then surrounded, forcing the group quite literally against the wall. Zelda was in the center of the semicircle the champions had formed around her, her back pressed against one of the rocky cliffs of the Akkala region. "Ganon sure knows how to keep us on our toes." Daruk's powerful voice boomed.
"I'd prefer it more if he didnt."
In any other situation, Link would have rolled his eyes at Revali's snarky remark, maybe even laughed a little. But right now, in this moment, he couldnt afford such levity.

The power of the five champions combined was no match for the might of a golden lynel, not to mention five of them. The only one left standing was Link, bruised and battered as his fellow champion all took a knee, bracing themselves against their weapons. "Its no good, we have to get the princess to safety." Urbosa spoke, casting her gaze over her shoulder towards Zelda herself. "No, no I'm not leaving you all here! Link tell them! Tell them I'm not going!"
"Link.. get her out of here." It was Revali this time, staggering up to his feet. "We can take care of ourselves from here. Get yourself and the Princess to safety."
Link was weighing his options heavily, looking between his fellow warriors and the beasts before them. It became dreadfully clear in that moment, Link knew what had to be done...
