Chapter 15; please come home

I sat there as the phone rang.

Then it finally answered.

"Hello?" "Hi momma." "Hi baby! What's wrong? You sound sad." "Our cousins are here and the restraining order isn't up and they're in the house. Jason let them in the house, mom I don't want to be here." I started to cry. "Don't cry baby. I'm in California for the week. You and Kai can come stay with me." "You know Jason won't let us." "Let me worry about your brother. Tell Kai to pack a bag. I'll come get you from school tomorrow. This can be my week instead of Christmas." "I miss you momma! I can't stand it here. They're always doing something! You know I was in the hospital twice because of them! I want to live with you and Tyler." "Baby," she sighed. "We can talk about this tomorrow. Tell your brother. I love you so much. Always remember that. I'll see you tomorrow my love." She hung up.
