Maybe I Bit Off More Than I Could Chew: Book three

Back home, New queen (Mel's Pov)

"Oh..." Audrey muses. "I had called your mother ahead of time and let her know this. I had believed she would tell Fairy godmother, and you the change of plans." "My apologies Rohan, I was trying to get away from our mother. She had accosted me in the hallway and asked me for a little company in her lonely room. She was talking my ear off about how I needed to take the throne so that Asun doesn't fall to ruins... Honestly I tried to let Audrey and Fairy godmother know before you got back." Aurora speaks from the doorway. "I just let Fairy godmother know though, as I bumped into her on the way to find you." She adds as she crosses the room and sits next to Audrey. "You will do amazing as Queen, Audrey. You have so much care for the people of Asun, I don't doubt that you will flourish." Aurora assures her daughter. "And you will have us there for you as well, if you need any help." Dad adds. After a moment of silence Audrey nods and says, "I can do this." She then stands up from her seat and gestures towards us.

"I'll show you guys to your rooms." Audrey says to Belle, Adam, Mal and Ben. "And yours as well, Ro. Oh, by the way Evie is coming over. She was going to make a dress for you, I figured that she would be a lot less hyper than Nathan. I guess she's going to be making mine instead." She says turning to me. I nod and she turns and starts to walk, gesturing for us to follow. She leads us to a hallway with four rooms in it. "Belle and Adam your room is right here." She starts, pointing at the first door on the right. "Its right next to mine. Then Ben's is across from his parent's and Mal and Ro, your's is right across from mine." She finishes pointing to each room as she lists them. Belle and Adam go into their room leaving Mal, Ben, Audrey and I in the hallway. "You can always share a room with Ben if you'd like." Audrey teases with a smirk. I shake my head and chuckle. "I'd be fine with it." Mal adds jokingly and winks at me. Audrey leaves us to check on the plans, telling us to take a look at our rooms.

Mal and I go into our room to find that the walls are pale peach and the bed and the details are white and light grey. "It's actually pretty nice. Not all overly pink." Mal muses. We sit on our beds, facing each other. "So..." Mal starts, only to trail off, unsure of where to start with the conversation. "So..." I reply. "You're gonna be a mom, how does that feel?" She asks. "Well, it's weird. I didn't expect that I would be and I hope I do a good job." I answer. "You will Mels, I'm sure you'll be a whole lot better than ours." She assures me. We continue to talk for a while before a knock on the door interrupts us. Mal gets up and answers it to find Evie standing in the hall with her supply box in hand. "Mi-mi!" She yelps, dropping all her supply box and hugging me. "Don't you ever leave for more than a week ever again." She scolds pulling away and looking me over worriedly. "I don't plan on it eves." I reply dryly. "Now, let's get down to business. I know you want the color to be purple, and I'm thinking a high low style. I've already got some heels that will go with it." She says picking up her supply box and starting to get everything she needs out of it. She first grabs the tape measure and starts to take my measurements before I can protest. 

"You've gained weight, were they feeding you well?" She asks as she measures. I shake my head and look to Mal to give the explanation. "She... well, she's pregnant." Mal tells her gently. "What? Oh! Really? You're pregnant!" Evie exclaims and stops measuring. I nod and she hugs me. "That's amazing." I smile at her and she hugs me again. "You're not going to be working on my dress anyways." I muse and Evie looks confused. "Audrey is the one being crowned tomorrow." I explain and she nods. "Then I need to get Audrey's measurements, and then I've got to get started on something for her." Just as she starts to root through her sewing tin, Audrey comes into the room. "Hey, I heard Evie was here for the dress." She says and Evie tugs her closer and starts to measure her without a word. Evie starts to work on the dress, asking me about the Catelona entire ordeal, I tell her everything with Mal and Audrey's help. 

It's getting late into the night and Evie tells me the dress will be done in the morning before the coronation, and that she needs to stay here to work on it through the night. So I offer up my bed and sneak over to Ben's room. He's already lying down to sleep when I come in the room. "I didn't think you'd take up Audrey's offer." He jokes with a chuckle. "Evie's  is working on Audrey's dress for coronation so I offered her my bed." "Ah so you came here to steal mine." He teases and then scoots over and pats the bed next to him. I crawl into the spot next to him and smile at him. He smiles back and wraps his arms around me, pulling me up against him. "I missed holding you close like this." He tells me as he traces patterns on my back. "I did too."
