My phone rang just as me and Matty came outside of the building he lived in. The caller was Mandy and my phone almost fell out of my hand as I remembered that I was supposed to go see her at the fair today. well crap.

"Hi." I said, trying to sound calm and started walking towards the car.
"Hey Lizzy! You coming today?" I opened the car's door and told her to wait a second.
"Matty?" He turned his head and nodded his head as if he was telling me yeah?

"can we go to the cinema next time, I promised a friend to come to the fair where she's selling her paintings? I'm so sorry for ruining your plans but there's still another time, right?" I rolled my eyes at my own stupidity and waited for his response.
"sure. it's at the school, right? the fair?" I nodded and we both sat down in his car.
"Mandy, I'll be there in 15 minutes. Where's your place?" she told me the instructions and off we went.

"why are you so afraid of what others have to say about you?" the cigarette between my fingers was going to it's end.
"because I want people to think I'm incredible. I don't want them to think I'm odd. I want strangers to fall in love with me. I don't want them to think 'what the hell is wrong with that chick?' because that would suck." he smirked.
"but you are incredible, come on. start living." he opened the car window and the cold air gazed my skin, making me shiver.

I was so in love with this man, I don't know why, I just felt this connection, this admiration I felt towards him and it all made sense, everything just fell into place. It was like a love story, all or nothing.
All I could hope was, he felt the same way.

His eyes were so beautiful and whenever he looked at me it felt like he could see right into my soul. however cliche that may sound like. it was so fascinating how someone could make me feel like he did. after all, he was just another man.

"we're here." and we stepped out of the black car of his and I could see so many people, mostly families and groups of friends. the fair was every year and it had some good local bands, some cool amusement park devices and all kinds of things. it was fun to go there.
"let's go meet your friend and after that we can go to some roller-coasters and such." his voice sounded excited and it made me smile because he seemed like a little child.
"last year we played on this fair." he told me with sparkles in his eyes. I suppose, he really liked playing in front of people and to share his music with others. Though,  I couldn't recall The 1975.
"we weren't the 1975 yet. we were drive like I do, so yeah." that made sense.
"I still didn't hear your music." he laughed, "well, check youtube love."
"or maybe you could play it for me?"
"sure."
