Gaze

Beautiful pools that lead to the soul's secrets

Oh! How I long to know what they hide from me

But like mirrors they only give back a reflection

Keeping the bearer's secrets safely shielded

I fear that if you were to look into my eyes they would not keep my secrets safe

Mine would not be a mirror but a window, open for you to see my every weakness

So please, I beg, don't look at me

With those eyes of pure mystery

For I think I would not survive their gaze
