Returning Home (BoTW x Reader)

Chapter Four

I've come to a predicament because at first, I was going to have like all the main characters (the champions and their descendants/second gen champions or whatever they are called idfk) as love interests but that's, like, a lot of characters, and I don't even know if u all like them but I'm gonna uhhhhh lower the characters. Maybe give me your top three characters nd I'll choose from there. Also, no Riju because she is. A CHILD.
(unless you want all the characters in which case plz tell me so bcs that was the original plan but tbh I don't actually know) (tbh I'm mainly asking this bcs idk if any of u would like Daruk and Yunobu as love interests sjshjshskf I'm sorry. Also, yeah, female characters are always welcomed for my woman-loving ass)

"Wooooow!" I exclaim, grinning widely. It's one thing to see the structures in the game, but they are so beautiful in real life.

"This is a dream come true." I sigh. Link looks at me questionably.

"You've dreamt of coming here?" He asks. My eyes widen, and I start to sweat nervously.

"Well, yeah. From where I come from, this place is told of to be really cool. The chief of the village supposedly fought alongside the hero and the champions." I lie. To be honest, you'd be pegged as a nerd for talking about a "dumb video game town". Okay, boomer.

"Oh, that's cool. Are you not from Hyrule, then?" He asks. I shake my head.

"I come from a faraway land. You've probably never heard of it. We don't necessarily have the same... Um... Technologies as you do." Goddess Hylia, if only he knew how advanced the technology was on Earth. Wait, did I just say 'Goddess Hylia'? Weeb, much.

"Ah, maybe one day I could visit your home country?" Link suggested. I shrugged, he would never find a way there. Hell, I don't even know how to get back home. What is gonna happen to the pets?!

"So, where do you think this 'Impa' is gonna be?" Link asked. I give him that look you give to your friends when they ask a dumb question, you know, the confused look with squinted eyes and your hand doing a sideways "Boi" motion. Yeah, that.

"Maybe in, you know, the house with the guards out front." I hint, walking towards said house.

I hear Link quietly utter an "Ohhhh" before following after me. The guards jump into action as Link tries to climb the steps, blocking the entryway.

Link jumps back, stumbling into me. I yelp as he knocks me over, preparing for him to fall on top of me. However, instead, he picks me up off the ground.

Goddesses, we must look like a total trainwreck in front of these guards. I look up at them to meet glaring eyes.

I shrink under their gazes, reaching into my pocket to pull out my Sheikah Slate Mini. I hold it out to show the guards, motioning for Link to do the same.

After an apology, the guards move aside and let us through, up the stairs. I look at the beautiful building in wonder, running my hands over the wooden handrails.

I'd still think this is all a dream, had I not been able to feel everything. It's truly amazing. At the top of the landing, we are greeted with Paya.

She sputters for a moment, upon seeing Link. I silently laugh in the background as her face darkens with a blush. Before long, we are entering Impa's house.

My breath is taken away as I see her. Up until now, everyone looked almost identical to their in-game self. Impa looked far older, her face held more wrinkles, you could see her hands shaking just sitting in her lap, and her head wobbled on her shoulders from her hat.

Her eyes opened, and she gazed upon us, standing in the doorway. I'm half-hidden behind Link, and I doubt she can see me.

"So, you're finally awake." She leaned over to make eye contact with me, and I stepped further out from behind Link. "And it seems you have returned."
