[do you go by Mike? Mikey? or maybe Mick? there are a lot of possibilities here]
[i guess it depends on the person who's talking to me... why don't you pick one?]
[this way, it'll be *your* nickname for me]
The thought of Beth having a name to call him by, one that would be different than what everybody else called him, sounded very nice in his head. Unless she picked Mickey...
[and then I get to pick a nickname for you too]
It was only fair that he'd get to call her something special, as well.
[sure, if you're up for the challenge]
[my name's already pretty short as it is]
[and I think I'm gonna go with Mike]
Mickey smiled at the screen as the nickname already felt like his own.
The car stopped, which was Mickey's cue to get out. He shot for the record company's building before anyone could see him and, safely inside, he continued their conversation on his way to the manager's office.
[i like Mike. if you like it, Bethie, then I'm fine with it too]
[Bethie? really]
[u don't approve? ok, i'll find another one]
[it's not like we're in a hurry, right, Betsy?]
[ridiculous]
[wow, Betty, you're sure as hell not easy to please]
[now I'm just curious to see how far you can go with this]
[i am a very creative person, Bets]
[i wouldn't have guessed... @randomguy26]
[you're not letting this go, are you, Wilde?]
[never.]

"Wilde!" The shout came from the end of the hall.
Beth already knew who did the shouting for several reasons. First, she recognized the voice, one that she was used to hearing every day, all the time. Another reason was that, sadly, that particular voice was also used to screaming at Beth a lot, every day, all the time. Sometimes, Beth wondered if the owner of said voice knew how to speak in any manner other than through shouting.
"Yes, boss?" She calmly replied, after recovering from the initial response to the scream – which was to wince very hard and sit straighter on her chair.
"Where is the fucking Bellmount contract?"
Oh, how she loved when he bellowed profanities directed at her for the whole floor to hear.
Beth took a deep – very deep – breath and raised herself from the desk. When she reached her boss' opened office door, he was already filling up his lungs to scream at her again.
"I put it over the files cabinet, boss", she said, reaching for the place where the pile of papers was so clearly visible. Seriously, it's like he enjoyed doing that, he didn't even look, he just wanted her to get up from her desk and get it for him.
